Not sure if it's a bug but casting the merfolk for "free" with baral expertise is not free. It will prompt me to pay2 colorless mana as if I am casting it as flash. I encountered it a couple of times when testing out the deck.

Thought I should share.

That sucks, you got heaven for flyers but rakdos vamps are a tought matchup for anydeck, To bad you didn't even get to drop a creature.

I had dropped a Druid who I had to use to block. I had Glorybringer but it was too late

Ok zen I'll add a forest. Zen your deck beat the AI too :). Ok I'll take the rest of these decks out for a walk tomorrow night I think

I also think, between all the planeswalkers and the big enchantments doing their thing every turn, this one is is about as well set up to endure a mana flood as anything.

The one exception I can think of is if the hand is 5 lands, t2 play (Advocate, Ramp, Contortion) plus a Tracker (basically your only out to flood)

Skysovereign is never a wrong answer. Another thought might be taking a page from Elk's book and going dusk watch recruiter- I think that could really kill in this one.

I hate taking a mulligan down to six unless I'm completely screwed with a midrange deck like this; I'll gamble on picking up something along the way. That worked fine the second time here; it was a later extended flood that got me.

So I take my balls for a walk on the park and got matched against an rakdos vampire Rank 34 deck, T2 Heir, T3 Asylum visitor T4 masquerade... sounds strangely familiar so I took some screen shots.
Ps. Only change is 2 GB manland +1 swamp, And I swapped the magma spray for cut. (which it did not showed up in this game)

The Recruiter has been insane for me, on a a deck that brings threats & answers in the form of creatures it really shines.
Early on he helps ramp and later is a draw engine, so much win!

Recruiter definitely fits, but if I run them I want to run all 3, and I can't find the cuts to make. All of the other cards just seem to serve better purposes.

Ok you bastards, back to round one of playtesting. Let's see if anyone ties Cuchos balls for last place.!

Next up, havens big ramp...win against Orzhov after mulling to six with 3 land, 2 Ballistas and a Languish. Not great. 1-0

Looks like it's time to delete Cuchos balls :(

Zen up next...big win against Abzan. So much draw!! 1-0

Jokers compensation next...super long game against mono black which fully developed. Early T3 Nissa was terrifying but I Ulamog her right before she ultimate. 1-0

Time for one more... elks chubby is next!! ...omg hUge win against mono black zombies with T3 Lilly again! Rhonas comes to the rescue to boost a tireless tracker right in time. I could have played and Ult-sacd Nissa to kill her too but Rhonas is sneakier :). 1-0!

Chorus up next...win vs Izzet burn 1-0

Modulo is up..win against the worst Radkos vamps player ever. 1-0

Round two!! Sadly Cucho finishes alone as the only deck without a single win :( Shame! #Image.

Modulo first...win vs mono green. 2-0. The removal was fantastic here. T3 Nissa, t4 tracker then two removal spells, flipped Nissa into Reality Smasher, yay

Havens big ramp next...up against Mardu vehicles/control/planeswalkers . In 19 cards, I got 11-12 land and zero creatures. Awful. 1-1. Deck deleted

Ok that's gonna do it for tonight. Moar round two tomorrow!

See what I mean? I flood all the time, even with 18 Land decks...
That's why I can't bring myself to play more than 24 Land in any deck.
In this case I even swapping 3 Land for maps in an attempt to dry out the lands from the deck and help with revolt triggers on Fatal Push...
But I knew my deck wouldn't Last long in barney's hands.

I have a suggestion for the next contest. Because we are presumably going to be stuck with the current set of quests forever , I'd love to see a contest around the worst quest which I believe is the placing -1/-1 counters on your own creatures. I HATE that quest

Just got around to playing a game with modulo's deck

Breezed to an easy win against an odd incoherent :r::g::u: deck running fairy miscreants, burn and blue trials...
It was T2 druid, into T3 seed guardian, into T4 big nissa, into T6 reality smasher (when I could have cast gaea's revenge, but smasher's trample was more useful at that point).

Looks like the deck did its thing...

i don't know what's going on with Gaea's Revenge with these decks but I've been forced to play him defensively almost everytime as a blocker. Really weird.

I believe rogue's passage is non-green so that would be no, which is a shame really...
