I can't decide if 25 lands or 24 is where a ramp deck wants to be.

Start with 26 if you want to consistently cast ramp spell on turn 3. If you stuck with 2 lands game is over. I play 25 lands and I lose half of my games stuck at 2 lands.

Mana dorks gets you to T3 on curve, 25 lands + 8 ramp spells is a bit to much in my experience. I started at 25 but Im now sold with 24 but no evolving wilds.

This is the list I submitted to Giocher earlier today. Got in a short round of testing today and liked what the deck offered. Likely won't have time to test more tomorrow so this is probably final.

Eldrazi Mid-Ramp
Creatures (25):
2 x Sylvan Advocate
4 x Druid of the Cowl

1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2 x Tireless Tracker
3 x Reclamation Sage

3 x Seed Guardian
2 x Thought-Knot Seer

1 x Verdurous Gearhulk
2 x Reality Smasher

1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Ulvenwald Hydra

2 x Gaea's Revenge

1 x Decimator of the Provinces

Non-creature spells (10):
3 x Nature's Way
3 x Ruin In Their Wake
3 x Spatial Contortion

1 x Nissa, Vital Force

Lands (25):
11 x Forest
9 x Wastes
1 x Rogue's Passage
4 x Evolving Wilds

At its core, this is my Mid-Ramp deck from the KLD season with a few tweaks. Druid of the Cowl replaces the Pilgrimages, Seed Guardian > Pack Guardian because of its ability to stabilize the board (also because I won't have a land in hand as often), slightly different manabase (18 reliable G sources plus four Druids)).
Not the flashiest deck ever made, but the one deck I could get to consistent results given the restriction to 2 colours (otherwise I would've loved to submit )

Update: still more or less 15 hours to submit your decklists or to send me an updated version. I have got 6 decklists and it should be a nice round since there is every combination with all the other colors.

Chubby Chaser

2 x Walking Ballista
2 x Sylvan Advocate
4 x Druid of the Cowl
2 x Duskwatch Recruiter
3 x Weaver of Currents
1 x Reclamation Sage
2 x Tireless Tracker
1 x Prowling Serpopard
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
1 x Rhonas the Indomitable
2 x Altered Ego
1 x Woodland Bellower
1 x Greenwarden of Murasa
1 x Ulvenwald Hydra
1 x Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

3 x Explosive Vegetation
2 x Bounty of the Luxa
2 x Sandwurm Convergence

1 x Nissa, Steward of Elements
1 x Kiora, Master of the Depths
1 x Nissa, Vital Force

3 x Island
2 x Lumbering Falls
13 x Forest
2 x Hinterland Harbor
4 x Woodland Stream
1 x Rogue's Passage

So this is what I submitted.

Ways to win - Altered Ego - I'll mention this card separately because it was the basis behind the build. Since it's an :x: based spell and we're doing ramp, seemed like a good enough choice. The deck has a decent number of targets - Sylvan Advocate, Reclamation Sage, Woodland Bellower, Greenwarden of Murasa, Ulvenwald Hydra, Lumbering Falls and most importantly Walking Ballista. A card that should have also made the cut was Verdurous Gearhulk but the deck was starting to feel more mid-rangeish and the contest required a good handful of 6+ spells (and the more I think about it, should have kept it anyway - there's another swap I'd like to make :(). Regardless, copy what's best for your game (which sometimes is their bombs or problem cards).
Lands - Sylvan Advocate can sometimes be a lord in this deck and I have noticed a pattern of wins with lands. Lumbering Falls, Nissa, Vastwood Seer (ultimate), Nissa, Steward of Elements (ultimate), Nissa, Vital Force (+1 activation). You can fetch Advocate with Woodland Bellower and Altered Ego can copy Bellower or Advocate to make some pretty nasty land attacks.
Mana Sinks - Walking Ballista, Altered Ego, Rhonas the Indomitable, Nissa, Steward of Elements, Tireless Tracker and Duskwatch Recruiter are great ways to use up all this mana and win in the process.
Fatties - Not to much to say here - ramp and play dudes ahead of curve.

Now as I mentioned before, the deck does not have a lot of interaction. No life gain. No fogs. So the only choice is to play out creatures to get in the way while you ramp and/or dig. You are definitely using your life total as a resource with this deck - lol! There are a handful of ways to dig through the deck in Tireless Tracker, flipped Nissa, Vastwood Seer, Bounty of the Luxa, Nissa, Steward of Elements, Nissa, Vital Force and Duskwatch Recruiter. Flying is a big problem for the deck as well. Someone plops down a Smuggler's Copter and we're worried. Finding Ulvenwald Hydra, Walking Ballista, Sandwurm Convergence and Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger and often important.

Disclaimer - I really don't think this one will be a front runner this time around but definitely wanted to submit something just for activity sake. I probably should have gone :r: or :w: or maybe even :b: but like I said above, this really turned into fun with Altered Ego and; based on contest restrictions, where I ended up :D.

g/l and can't wait to read about Barney crashing and burning with this pile :D

@ Elk - Think Pull From Tomorrow would find a home in Simic ramp? Lots of mana to pump that X. And running out of cards is often a problem for ramp decks if they don't hit the Trackers.

Agree that green-hulk should probably be in there.

With white you got tons of removal I would go all in with the druid of the Cowl and ditch the board wipes for cast out and some othet cheap removal . I would also go all in with bruna and emeria shepherd instead of other faties I you are moving to slow you can always bring Thalia in ;). The angelic theme with ramp sounds scary enough the recursion makes it pretty damn powerfull.

I tried this at your suggestion, it worked fine, not appreciably better or worse but I had more fun with my original build. Board wipes are just so satisfying.

Wondering if anyone submitted the evil Simic bounce build with Fog and Vexing Scuttler that's been all over the top of the iOS ladder lately. Kinda hope not, seems really good but slow as hell and testing it would take forever.

Does Altered Ego use the ETB effects of whatever it copies?

But it won't copy cast effects like Ulamog, right?

These decks are gonna be fun

I did have pull from tomorrow in the original version (several pages back) and it was fine but it was just a draw effect where many of the ones I kept also do additional things too. I found if I was actively using the ones I kept, Pull lost it's effectiveness unless I was way behind and desperate for an answer. It might be wrong but I did hate taking a turn off, especially in this deck where you're behind most games. And yeah, regretting more and more not putting in the hulk but didn't want to push my luck making last minute changes.

If anyone is interested, I'd probably swap out the Serpopard for the Hulk.

I had a list I was tinkering with but it never made it past the testing phase. I wanted to do a crat-rampy thing with Primal Druids and some of the black emerge drazi to be different but I don't think we have access to the right cards to justify that type of build. At least, not as a ramp strat.

How about elfs for the next theme?

That's definitely a challenge to make elf tribal competitive...

It's (finally) time for round 8 of the deckbuilding contest, there was an extreme janky theme that i was keeping for the end of the season, but since i'm not sure if people want extreme jank without the next expansion, i chose something else. So the theme of this week is Lifegain

Let's talk about the rules. This theme is quite tight but also quite open, since we don't have real payoffs for it, so there will be no restrictions in colors.
At least 12 cards that make you gain some life, not sure about this number, but let's say 12 and wait that people start testing some lists, so i could change it after some feedbacks. I think that there should not be doubts about which cards gain you some life. It has to be directly, so if for example you build an Ally deck with the creature that drains when an Ally etb, Kalastria Healer counts for the requirement, other Allies without lifegain effects don't count.
As always decklists are public but remember to send it by PM, so i can find them all to make the poll.
The deadline to submit your decklist is the end of 29 July, in whichever timezone you are.

If you like having more rounds leave some ideas for new themes, also let me know what do you think about extreme janky decks. But for now let's see who can have a healthy life in duels. Have fun.
