SquiderDragon 0 - Atlashheth 2

Sad being my last competitive match but to be fair both games were great to play. With running quite a few similar cards game 1 seemed initially to be in my favour but we both had Avacyn. Probably my timing was out but it was a sign of things to come.

Game 2 started with good mana from me. I had good cards and established what I thought was a good board. Double blessed Alliance though ended that. Unbelievable. Despite being blow to hold off for a bit once again double Avacyn and a dwindling life total put the match beyond me.

For me though a good match to sign off on. Also sad as will be the last tournament I run and organise. Like a lot of others the announcement was a blow and my heart is no longer in it. I will of course manage the rest of the tournament and look forward to top 8 and matches it will generate. I hope you stick with it and give a good send off to the last iOS organised tournament involving SquiderDragon. All good things come to an end. Been a blast and you each and every one made it that way. SD

I simply refuse to go down without taking at least 1 round.

In game 1, being all agitated from the several restarts, I scried away a land I badly needed without even thinking about it, and it quickly went downhill from there.
drobb simply took over the board, the end.

In game 2, I kept a hand that felt like the right type of hand to unload in favor of Bomat.
It took me a minute bit but I got there and after a hand refill of the Bomat kind, Karl Zev saved my friggin’ ass.

In the last game, I had to choose between a T2 Bomat or Bloodlust on my Glory Chaser.
I went with more board presence with Bomat, but don’t know if I’d do it again, given the choice.
The plan was to again start dumping my hand in favor of Bomat but when I finally did, all I got was a lousy T-shirt and 2 lands.
Dropping a Fleetwheel on me first, drobb then found his definitive recovery in Giddy of the Trials, who took the game home in his favor.

2-1 Mort
Game 1: Not an eventful game as far as board state goes(how I like it) I blast and countered my way to victory
Game 2: early greenbelt and heart of Kiran were bad news for a counertless hand and Ariel took this one easily
Game 3: longer than maybe 1 and 2 combined and not as decisive either way. Mid game Ariel began to flood out and I got to turn the corner and ride this bumpy one home

As I expected , Mort wins 2-1.
Game 1: on the play. Mort pulls some key counters and burn to stop my early threats. I try to cast two at once later on, including a Blistering Hydra to cause some serious problems, but a key Censor foils my plans.
Game 2:on the play again. Mort only draws burn and not counters, I quickly win using Greenbelt Rampager, Heart of Kiran and my Hulk. Game ended on turn 6
Game 3: SO FRUSTRATING! I'm on the draw. After some back and forth (including killing his Jace with a Never) I feel like I have Mort on the ropes as he only has one card in hand... just give me another threat to close out the game RNGesus! But... I top deck FIVE consecutive lands and fall too far behind... and lose. when I stopped the game - 10 cards drawn to 13(!) lands. . sigh.
