I played a Dusk the other night where I had a slightly superior board in a mirror, he had Kalitas and so did I. He mostly had tokens and I mostly had non tokens. I had a full hand though thanks to Cryotbreaker and he was top decking. So I decide to cast Dusk just to reset the board and leave us pretty even, but I forgot about Kalitas effect and I get one token and he gets a dozen and swings lethal, oops
My submission for this round of the contest. I've been super busy with other stuff, so I just threw this together in the last second. I have had no time at all to work the mana-base etc. So at least Barney should be able to tear up my decklist quickly .

Edit: Must've been really tired when designing this? No Anointer Priest? Oh well, it's posted already.
You can still update it! Get it in quick before it's locked down. I look forward to trying this out, I thought about this type of deck but because of time restraints went with a more typical zombie design.

I haven't got time to fix the deck. First of all, I would've to decide whether to go for full mummy flavour, or include other cards to actually have a shot at doing reasonably well on the ladder.
Short discussion about the cards:
I know that I want the only black cards to be 3x Lord of the Accursed, 2x Liliana's Mastery and a Liliana, not sure which Liliana though. I went for Death's Majesty since I felt 2 black mana at turn three was greedy for this deck - though it might've been better to go for one of the others, even if the plan would be to drop them at a later turn.
Other cards I know I want are the Sacred Cats, they're just great 1 drops, with a cheap embalmcost and lifelink. Likewise Aven Wind Guide is a must have in what's mainly an Azorius build. Temmet, Vizier of Naktamun is also good, assuming that the manabase can provide blue and white on turn two, something I'm not quite sure it can do currently.
Anointed Procession is also a card that's hard to avoid in a deck where the main purpose is to create tokens. The Blessed Alliances are probably the worst card in the deck themeatically.
I just couldn't get my version of the Esper deck to consistently kill. It was good at gumming up the board, but not good at finishing the deal, which in my opinion meant it would lose to a lot of solid builds. As it stands, I am not that convinced about Zombies in general. They have power, but they don't have real aggro levels of power, and we have access to better - more unstoppable - midrange decks.
Alright round 6 is over, i have no idea how many people want this contest to continue. Leave your opinion here about that, if you are interested in doing it more, and i will probably decide if it's worth it to start another round at the beginning of next week.

I like these brew challenges. I think now that there are less try hards out grinding coins the diversity of deck builds can really flourish on the ladder.
I don't think there is a rush you can take a little time if you feel the need before laying down the next challenge.

I don't see an issue with participation. Pretty sure we can get 5 submissions but we have too few voters.
Yeah poll was open mostly to people that didn't submit a decklist, but i doubt that many of them joined it. But let's see how many people like that it continues, i have no problems at making some new rounds.

I'll probably keep brewing some janky-jank if the contests keep happening. So what's next?
Can't guarantee I can test the decks though, work is hell right now and I'm not playing that much anyway... But the contests will make it interesting enough to play Duels now and then...
I'd very much like to see these keep going. I haven't been voting because I don't have time to play every deck but I enjoy seeing a concept from so many angles

I still think we need to have a limit of decks tested. It's difficult to compare 10+ decks that are all on theme. I think if 10+ submissions are made then having a set A then set B and 2 deck playoff would be interesting.

I would hope for these contests to continue. I don't vote in the polls, since I'm still lacking the cards needed to build the decks, and I don't feel I got a good enough grip of the ladder to predict well enough which would behave the best, nor can I pick which of 6-7 decks I would enjoy playing most from looking at the decklists.
Still I enjoy following these contests, and I'm hoping to test some of the decks out sometime in the future.

this is basically the trend i see. We know it's a good contest and should not lack Builders or voters. Many people wait to watch the submitted lists, but they don't vote. we were explicitly told in order to vote we have to build and test all decks. We are not recommended and were accused for voting just based on deck building theory. I know each person has different theory, but I think for many cases, it gives a more accurate more all around view of the deck than Barneys single elimination approach. Like we immediately see people running greedy mana base. Someone likes it to avoid flooding, others would not risk mana base at all. My point is building and Testing is one approach but voting based on personal preference isn't wrong at all, and actually more voters could reflect majority view, like when you Too greed on mana, the majority would not vote for you, which is actually right.
