That is a good name ;) I was going for, "Targaryen zombies" (the drake zombies deck) but it was to janky and it needs some red to really shine, so I went for "Vampires cars zombies the movie you wanna see" xD

This is the beta 1.1 build of the deck. I found this to be the most fun to play out of the 3 zombie decks I have tested but may need a little more tunning. It's followed closely by a Dimir build that seemed less powerful but possibly a little more consistant.

Notes: This is a mid-range zombie build that focuses on tokens. We play some of the typical zombies or removal turns 1-3 hoping to land a turn 4 anointed procession and then make all kinds of world ending hoards of the walking dead.


The cards that have been in flux from the alpha build are mostly the removal package:

Fatal push- had Sinister concoction in for the discard but after testing ditched that and went grasp but I went harder to the white mana for beefcake supreme prompting another swap. Adding Evo wilds hopefully allows for some revolt. Even thought about running a single Cruel Revival but decided nah 3x early doom is a must.

Declaration in Stone- best in token mirror and exile is important sometimes. I have wondered if running 2x Time to Reflect or 2x Grasp would be better. I just don't have time to test all the options.

Never // Return- Have went back and forth with this and Anguished unmaking, so far I think Return matters enough to stick with Never (also has synergy with Kalitas). Return potentially is a 4 mana for 2 zombie tokens and exile gy card +it doesn't bolt us, - it's less flexible and harder double :b: to cast. I may end up swapping Dec in stone out for unmaking, or split the difference.

Gideon- I have had to change my initial mana base to add him, removed the second abbey and pulled out a token/discard source in Call the bloodline. Obviously Gid is amazeballs and it's silly to compare to call but adding him has warped the deck prompting other changes. Probably will cast him off curve but I think that's ok. More testing is needed. Only Cryptbreaker can madness out zombie tokens on the opponents turn and that makes me sad. Just no other options that I like to make that happen.

May make an adjustment or 2 once I test a little more, working the next few days so that may not happen. Hopefully we get a few different builds I can have fun with for the contest.

Notes: attack with everything all the time, mostly. Your ideal board state has enough evasion to leave nothing held back (especially with a Throne in play), and if you need defense your best option is an instant activation of Binding Mummy via Graf Harvest, Cryptbreaker or Haunted Dead. There's a low curve and enough discard that you can use your Siphoner/Cryptbreaker/Copter to draw pretty liberally and still get to zero cards in hand for Orrery. Use your removal early to keep swinging (but hold something back till T4 if you're expecting to see Kalitas, cause he'll ruin you); it's generally better to play Dark Salvation for fewer tokens than to wait a turn or two for another.

The deck is definitely helped by the meta; Colossus will eat a lot of removal, but the other stuff here is typically low on the Zombie food chain, and opponents will hold something back for a Kalitas, Lord, Belcher or even Wayward Servant that's never coming, which buys you time to keeping swinging bears. Having everything fit in under Dusk is nice too.

I'm worried about my submission, I'm only 18-5 with it and it has trouble with the graveyard quest which is ridiculous

If it wasn't in the contest I would have deleted this thing by now. It needs BB and WW too often and I don't don't regularly get both. The sanctuaries and abbeys should be basic lands

Losses have been to Boros tokens, radkos vehicles, Orzhov control recursion (this was Natasha6 and I was 21 cards deep with only 4 land including only one white source, ridiculous), radkos Zombies (what the bitch?), mono red

Me either, and its the last day! I've only had 2 playsessions to build/test, too, which makes it hard. I've got a token/control build that is fun and janky, but quite similar to Sl33p's, a zombicrats build that is different from anything I've seen so far, but kinda sux, and a nice straightforward aggro build that probably will have the highest winrate. Decisions...

Well, the janky build worked like clockwork vs AI. But when I took it on the ladder I got flooded the first game, lost to T5 Ulamog (Reanimator) the 2nd game (I had a few cards in the deck that woulda won me that game, I think, but they weren't in hand and ended up getting milled), and screwed the 3rd game.

Then I finally had a reasonable game vs some 70+ card newb deck (easy win) and then... well, then this happened...

Opp almost got me, too, because I didn't nuke his Throne until after his spell resolved. If he'd cast it post combat, I'd prolly have lost since the trigger would have been on the stack before Duels would have given me priority again.

Now I'm second guessing if I should make the spike changes or not. Graf Harvest and Throne of the God Pharaoh are fun but Copter is likely to secure a couple more wins and therefore potentially more votes. I was also thinking of adding in the last push and possibly big Lily. Ugh.

So fun or extra spikey?
