Despite being on the draw for 3 consecutive games, Auunj takes the game like a boss: 2-1.
If anyone feels so inclined, you can also rewatch my angle on Twitch.
Game 1, I sacrificed Bomat on a gamble, hoping to gain more momentum. Didn't work. Auunj stabilized. The end. : ) Game 2, had that last land been a mountain, I wonder if Glorybringer would have stuck. If it hadn't.. ehh, I dunno. Anyway, red did its thing. Game 3, as soon as I had sacrificed Bomat, I regretted it. "Madness out Temper", ooh shiny.. distracted. Auunj pretty much took over from there on out.
Bomat was a last minute swap, I'm still getting used to it.
Still, I enjoyed the games, good luck in the next round Auunj!

Despite being Beat down very quickly game one I (Altashheth) snuck a win 2-1.
Game 1, I Blinked my eye and my life total vanished.... Copter, veins, temper and some disintergration did me in. Game 2, 2 Glory-Bounds and a Walking Balista helped me stabilise before Bruna and then Brisela closed out the game. Game 3, 1 Glory-Bound and a Walking Balista brought me an extra turn before a sacrifice of my entire board to Westvale Abbey summoned Ormendahl to close out the game.
Man of the match was the Glory-Bound Initiate with the Walking Balista in close 2nd. Wizard_Al took my luck like a champ!

Thanks for the kind words. Personally I think they are much better than Magma Spray and Fiery Impulse as those don't deal with some early problematic threats with 3/3+ toughness.
If I had to resubmit the deck I'd play +1 LA and +1 FT in place of 2 Comparative Analysis. The current setup should be better against control and midrange tho, so not a big loss.
And LA is pretty good late game as you can just pay 6 mana eot.

I can't agree enough, my drake haven standard deck uses four of each... I've built a duels deck that's as close as possible but it's definitely tier 2.0
Initiates, it is important that if a match is done after a 2-0 you play the 3 game for possible tie breakers
Probably best to be fair to have a tie-break if and when required. I doubt most participants will want to play on after going 2 and 0 and possibly going 3 and 0 to add insult to injury. SD

MagicMaster and I played our games today. I went 2-0 thanks to (unfortunate) mana short on MM's part, and a well timed Peacewalker Colossus (since he was wiping out possible vehicle pilots as fast as I could get them out).
I don't have gameplay recordings, just print screens of final board states of each game:
I really did think I was in with a shot v Mono blue control. When we started Cucho's connection lagged when he tried to counter first creature. We agreed to restart. Game 1 was the best game but true to form every creature or threat countered. An early Jace and it's ultimate made it tough. Once Dynavolt Tower was packed out and ballista out it was a slow countering death.
Game 2 I decided it was a gamble to keep a 2 land Sylvan advocate mana hand. Mana screw meant that this did not pan out for me. Once I had the mana for threats Dynavolt was always able to take care. In the end the ballista / tower combo ended the match relatively quickly.
Looking at control in this match and over on the Xbox platform it's certainly a good choice. Just odd that it is not really dominant in standard.
I will post the video of the entire match once converted.
The first match starts at 27:10 for reference. Various issues getting started and in first game Cucho's counter hit lag so we agreed on a restart. Pity as I had good mana. Typical eh
Review is also a wonderful thing. In game 1 I dumped a Falls via response to trigger. Dumb I guess. Next turn I had a second. 2 lumbering Falls would have made a difference maybe. Live and learn although mana screw game 2 (my own fault not listening to my own deck tech advice) meant I could not apply this lesson
Game 2 was a very typical reason as to why a 2 land hand is never a keep. I lost count of the number of draws I had before hitting a third land! Was a 'walk in the park' for Cucho game 2. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AqF7jc0fMLY#

Cucho's deck looks really tight, although I believe it might have huge problems with early aggro. Seems well armed for control mirrors and slower decks.

GG´s SD, its a shame we got match against on the first game after all that hard work it felt like start//finish
Spoiler
I got good draws on both games, first one could have gone either way, if you resolved that reality smasher that would have been the end of me. Second one with the mana screw its just on the realm of chance
PS1: For future matches we advice that the control deck (if there is one) host the game. PS2: If there were to be a tie for a seat on top 8, that tie would have to be settled with an extra game, so 2-0 should close the match on this round
Looking forward to more videos, and I would like congratulate Ne0n for broadcasting his match on Twitch!! I thought it cant be done.

Absolutely right! I just hope to get to top 8 so I can tweak the deck for the specific match.

There is a blue red control up there in standard but a lot of standard decks are going quickly, trying to go under control.... also... there is marvel for free wins.
