What would we say to someone just starting duels playing with the starter box?

That person, i think, would feel the opposite of Psychatog. I think they'd feel OVERwhelmed (I know I would). So hearing a reaction of underwhelment(sp?) is alarming. I would think that the single-player campaign (which sounds big) would give a nice big sense of wonder. I've downloaded Gwent myself but haven't started it yet (and probably won't for a long time).

It's hard to compare to Duels cuz does the Duels player have experience playing Magic yet? If so, they're going to love Duels probably. But no one has any experience playing Gwent really so that learning curve is there before the person feels comfortable. That needs to come quickly before the new players runs away

the balance is terrible and i dunno why people keep wanting a card game where you can't do anything on your opponents' turns



the single player "campaign" isn't big or wonderful, it's just fighting against an AI that always plays the same cards in the same order, it's really boring and unfun (especially since you have to do a lot of it to get the Leader cards)

Barney can make a stupid comment about it, and divinevert will school him in how Magic is actually played, then the devilwuster will post the time and address of his band's next gig. sixty4half will also post regarding the new card use but no one will acknowledge him.

Gwent is awesome but if you're not willing to give it a chance it won't hook you right away. It's got a lot more depth than it seems if you're just playing a few starter decks.

You can get a decent competitive deck in a short time if you know what you're doing and it won't cost you anything. I may even see if my recording software still works and do a few videos now that open beta is here.

Hey, I did post in the Misclick thread to add a little inertia. Still can't believe I decked myself but then again I'm really surprised I kept it together to get into the low 1000's (I could be mistaken as the last life total I actually remember before the game ended was 923) on life while tripping mushrooms.

While we are essentially a Neil Young tribute band we do other gigs that aren't showcases and throw in "barroom" music. We refuse to play Freebird when asked (unless someone was to lay a big tip on us for doing it, and I mean no less than a 50 spot). We will give you a real nice Call Me The Breeze though.
Trivia: Neil Young penned Powderfinger for Lynyrd Skynyrd but then the plane crash happened. One of my friends from here in town Pat Liston was just getting ready to jet off with them on a European tours with his band Mama's Pride. Pat was also asked to be on the flight but something happened I cannot remember that kept him from boarding.

don't get me wrong, i enjoy it a lot especially since i can play it on PS4 with Spotify on the same device, and yeah it does have more depth than Hearthstone, but the balance is still (understandably, since it's in beta) off
