I'll do the audio commentary for the sex film, as long as I can do it in the style of David Attenborough's nature documentaries.

"The online forum is the adult nerd's natural habitat. In those secluded spaces, he puts on a remarkable mating display. To the casual observer, it appears to be no more than name-calling and verbal abuse, but there is an element of pagentry to the display that is calculated to attract the thickest-skinned mating partner."

Hired. I don't want to push out Mort completely since he was the visionary who came up with this. He can be Best Fluffer or something important like that

What a stupid question

Not as stupid as aiming Rolling Thunder four times at Glyph Keeper thinking only the first "hit" would be countered ...

It's like a filthy, nerdy Twilight Zone.

A quick question about the Glyphkeeper Sphinx.

I cast a sorcery removal, but then tap my Dynavolt Tower before it resolves. Does the Dynavolt Tower count as the first ability to target it, because that is how it works in Duels. Shouldn't it be the other way around: the sorcery targets it, but doesn't resolve until after the tower takes effect? Is the targeting part of a sorcery only resolved at the same time as the full spell resolution?

I'm not 100 percent but I believe the sorcery is countered and the volt sticks. The sorcery immediately triggers Glyph's ability and clears the way for Dynavolt that shouldn't be countered even though it will resolve first

Edit: gatherer is no help here it seems but I'm pretty sure I'm correct

Targets are declared on cast, meaning as I see it Mortivore is right;

You cast DiS (for example) targeting GK; its trigger activates.
You can now activate Tower, which goes on the stack.
The stack then resolves backwards, Tower damage goes through, trigger then resolves and DiS is countered.

But why would you not activate Dynavolt Tower first then DiS? Having only 3 at the time before casting DiS is not a good excuse.

It would be great if you could include Insidious Will in there, somehow, to redirect after the Glyphkeeper is dealt with.

As for the Tower, I was not aware you could tap it without expending energy to target a creature. If that's so, then my all-blue deck has a new tool for the Willbreakers to play with.

Don't worry, you can't. tapping and paying 5 are both part of the cost.

If I do 2 damage to Keftnet (a 5/5 indestructible creature) and then cast Yahenni's Expertise (gives Kefnet -3/-3), does it die? What if I did 3 damage? 5 damage?

if you get it to zero, it lives (cuz it's indestructible), but if you can get it negative, then it'll die.

I'm 95% sure of this but not completely. i know i've killed that stupid blue bird god doing this before

No barney.

Banedon, unfortunately stacking damage with -x/-x doesn't work. The damage is basically nullified due to indestructibility. You have to do -X/-5 to Kefnet to kill him.

If you give him -3/-3 he's a 2/2. He can take as much damage as you want but damage doesn't actually reduce his Toughness. This is a common misconception due to the way Duels presents damage to the player. Duels shows the Toughness going down, but it doesn't actually go down.

Yeah I was so close to reporting it as a bug after I attempted that play. Like, I even planned it out, baited my opponent into blocking my 2/2 with his Keftnet, and then it backfired completely. I was so close to reporting it as a bug, then I started having second doubts, the -3/-3 ought to make Kefnet a 2/2, not 2/0, and since he's still indestructible no amount of damage would kill him. No bug.

Sheesh :(

am I misunderstanding? Here's what happened to me and I'm sure this happened:

I swing into Kefnet to trick him into blocking. He does so and takes 2-3 damage (I forget). I think hit him with Grasp of Darkness post-combat and he dies.

That's right, no?

Nah barney, Kefnet should live.

Here's what should happen (and it's definetly worked for me in the past so it is either new bug to amonkhet or you are misremembering)

- Kefnet blocks a 2/2, takes 2 damage

- You then cast Languish for example

- Kefnet then becomes a 1/1 with 2 damage on it till end of turn (and therefore doesn't die as indestructible doesn't care about damage)

Like someone said above, this is confusing for Duels as they simplify damage by lowering the toughness, even though if you cast a shock on a Kefnet it doesn't become a 5/3, it becomes a 5/5 with 2 damage on it.

Though if you had something that put a -1/-1 counter on Kefnet and then played Languish then it would have toughness 0, and die.
