Yes Sean is lying. I posted

I assume this was released as compensation for ipad crashes that have been repaired now how about releasing Dp3 on Xbl so all the people that can't play online have something to do?

Man, you people are really too harsh on Sean. It's like shooting the messenger, he has nothing to do with it. I think Sean does what he can as allowed by the people he works for. Do you go against your bosses and do whatever the hell you want to regardless of what they say? Probably not, that will get most of us fired. He said what he was told to say, which I agree, is a big crock, lol. That isn't Sean's fault though.

My post wasn't meant to be harsh but something I would like to see them do.

Until he knocks a horse out with one punch, Sean can't be as cool as mongo!

And yeah this is obviously ****, but I don't get why they don't just admit their mistake.. It's not like it's some terrible thing or even the first time something goes wrong.

Oh please. F-word the community director at the "other place".

I think anyone here that's not 12 years old KNOWS he can't dole out certain facts about this and that and at times he has to spout off what his bosses tell him. After that? Nothing is stopping him from engaging HIS community with more than just a random info blurb every month or so and peace-ing out immediately afterwards.

If he had shown up from the get-go and stated that he was nothing more than a corporate mouthpiece or whatever clever title you wanna sub there, then fine, off the hook. But nope, we got some spiel about how he's SO interested in what we have to say and will keep in contact with us and yadda yadda.

Now, don't get it twisted that the forum regulars have abandonment issues or whatever. So the dude doesn't show up, whatever. But don't expect me to sit here with all this "take it easy on him guys" nonsense. The guy sucks at his job (when he actually bothers to do his job). I can tell you his Twitter account isn't the wasteland the boards are.

The way most people are usually being jerks to him I wouldn't bother showing up either. I won't deny he couldn't have done a better job, but I wouldn't come around often either if every time I did it was nothing but people bashing me for wizard's bs.

It's actually well documented that I do*.
Part of the perks of being a well-respected worker that's really good at his job. :)

*Disclaimer: At the very least, I challenge everything that management says. Not in a combative way, merely that far too many people I work with (and have worked with in the past) blindly follow what they're told regardless of how retarded it is, or if there's a better way.
The manageers I work for have come to take the good with the bad. I make them explain their position on everything and more than once I have actually refused to do something they wanted by literally saying "There are lots of people willing to do that, get them to do it". The payoff is, I've actually saved them from a couple embarrassing foul-ups by thinking outside the box and not blindly following orders.

Okay. Deep Breath.

First things first, this is directed at this thread and not a particular user.

Second things second, it is rude to talk poorly about someone in a space where they could not defend themselves.

Third things third, if you aren't going to be a part of the old forum community anymore, then stop raising cain and just forget about it. Don't complain about the old forum for the rest of eternity if you don't plan to use it anymore. Because it serves no purpose.

The iPad main page still advertises Deck Pack 2, no mention of the third. Hah.

Sean's perfectly capable of saying "take this job and shove it" any time it contradicts his personal morality. I've done it, and more than once, and somehow I'm just fine. If Sean is uncomfortable being paid to repeatedly dole out things he knows to be lies, he can quit. It's now been what, a year and a half or so? Yet every time he does it, people jump up and go "Oh you can't blame Sean."

Yeah, I can. And I do. He's obviously comfortable with what he's doing. He's been asked to do it several times. He continues to comply. Sure, if it wasn't him, it'd be someone else. But that person always has the option of "I will do what my bosses say" or "I respect this community too much to tell them obvious lies." What they choose makes them who they are.

You're free to hold Sean accountable for his repeated actions or not, as you like. But I know where I stand.

Not everyone is in position to quit a job on a whim, especially if it actually pays decent (although I have no idea what it pays). If losing your job means your kids are on the street you think twice about telling someone to shove it, like it or not.

For Sean, a little bit of interaction and engagement with the community, especially during the forum transition and with the xbox multiplayer issues, could have stabilized the ship a bit.

Everyone says Sean is just doing what he's told, and I agree, to an extent. But how much effort does it take to post and interact just a little bit more?

I don't disagree with that. He could have certainly done a little more.

I'll chalk that up as "reason #974 I'm glad I don't have kids." Sorry, you couldn't pay me enough to lie to hundreds of people when I know the truth is otherwise, even to feed myself. I'd do anything to get out of that position. If it came down to "tell this lie to all of them or we slit your parents' throats in front of you", I'm pretty sure that ends with my parents dying in their old age with smiles on their lips because I never betrayed the principles I was instilled with.

But then I take honesty more seriously than pretty much everything and I'm probably an extremist whose opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. It gets me in no end of trouble, especially when I tell people the truths they don't want to hear. *Shrugs.* Most of you ought to know that much about me by now.

Well, I meet a lot of people and I'm convinced that the vast majority of wrongthinking people are right.

Quoted for its absolute brilliant truth.

I know, it kinda shocks me, too.
