haven't been on here in awhile, but I was scrolling down facebook a bit ago and I saw this facebook mtgplayer ad about how good T. Alchemist is and how well it works with glorybringer (which is what I came on here to check and yes it does seem we got it, lol) and how it's "one of the true break-outs" and I'm just sitting here like, I built this deck in duels before it was even a thing in standard!! lol
Standard Izzet Thermo-Alchemist list

Everyone is imitating Chiang these days

That looks like a good deck but I don't get why Glorybringer and alchemist get along

Basically this is the ol' Izzet Thermo-list from EMN, with Dragon and KLD Chandra thrown into the mix.
This shows one thing: Glorybringer is busted.

Not sure how good the list is in the Duels' metagame or current Standard (I believe the list dates back pre-Cat ban). It is very portable though; and we even habe some tools Standard doesn't (Abbot and Firecraft). Shame we missed out in Tormenting Voice again, though...

Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

Meh sample size. It doesn't have much legs, I don't think.

The cool thing is that we have most of the cards to build this. The bad thing is we only get 2 Fevered Visions and 0 Incendiary Flow. No flow is a big blow I think.

Never thought about adding Glorybringer into an alchemist deck... I guess its actually a good idea, 4 burn to face + removal every other turn... I'll try it out in my izzet deck.
Lack of Incendiary flow does hurt though.

The deck works!
Only played a couple of games, but I managed to pull off some wins that seemed out of Reach.

I'll post a list later.

Glorybringer has no synergy whatsoever with Alchemist, but it's a very good standalone card. The only real downside to the card is that the built in removal is not as reliable as a burn spell. When you absolutely want to kill something right now, you can't just ride this guy into instant removal. Oh, and he doesn't trigger the Alchemist or Prowess, but other than that he's great.

Totally true and totally right, but Glorybringer fits right into my Enigma Drake deck.
Synergy be damned, its powerful enough and can easily be cast. It works as 5cc 4 to face and 4 to a creature with the added bonus that it can be re-use later (if it survives) and it can draw removal away from your other win-cons.

Lol...

Just played a quasi-mirror match. He didn't Censor my Cathartic Reunion for some reason (I had already mulliganed and had no blue sources), then drops a fevered visions. I burn to face and wheel him with Collective Defiance and see him ditch 2 Censors and a Drake amoung other stuff.
Then he drops a Drake (6/4 at this point), leaving only 1 red mana open.
Guess who I dropped next? Glorybringer, kill his Drake and he promptly rage quit.

I played on and managed to always be ahead on damage and made the kill with a 2nd hasted alchemist (thanks to Battlements).
3-0
I'm liking the deck so far.
