Here's another idea. Should give control some headaches.
The idea is for huge hasted (with Battlements) Enigma Drake strikes to finish off you opponent from out of nowhere. Control the board with burn, draw lots of cards, fill the yard with instants and sorceries and then Boom!
Dispels and Censors are to protect the Drake, Stormchasers are for getting in a few points of damage to wear down opponent's life and the rest is draw and burn.
The deck will need tuning to adapt to the meta and you could replace some draw with hard counterspells (going more aggro/burn/control) or even go grixis for Fatal Push if the burn becomes inefficient at controlling the board and Maybe for stormchaser's Dimir cousin (Shadowstorm Vizier).

Izzet Burning Enigma
Creature(8)
3 x Stormchaser Mage
3 x Enigma Drake
2 x Bedlam Reveler

Instant(19)
2 x Dispel
4 x Galvanic Bombardment
2 x Lightning Axe
2 x Censor
1 x Pull From Tomorrow
4 x Fiery Temper
2 x Hungry Flames
2 x Hieroglyphic Illumination

Sorcery(7)
4 x Take Inventory
3 x Cathartic Reunion

Split(2)
2 x Insult

Enchantment(2)
2 x Fevered Visions

Land(22)
7 x Island
2 x Wandering Fumarole
9 x Mountain
2 x Sulfur Falls
2 x Hanweir Battlements

Edit: Idea from another thread, its worth trying a couple of fling in this deck. 10+/4 should be pretty easy to make, so get them down to fling range and Boom. Could be worth it to add geistblast with the flings. Probably cut the pull and Hungry Flames for it.

I put the deck together, since I didn't have internet access at the time, I ended up making a slightly different list (added in Sphinxs) and played some games vs AI.

The most interesting part is that the AI actually plays around Censor, keeping an extra mana open if your holding it. The deck seems to work btw.

I made a very similar deck to the OP that I am testing out. I am not a good deck builder or player, so I am surprised by how well this is working. I beat a guy named Giocher at ~level 13, not sure if is the same Giocher that plays in the Steam Showdown. He ramped up with double Druids and played the green Expertise twice. I countered the second one and attacked with a 13/4 Drake. I had Dispel up to protect the Drake but didn't need it.

I would be very interested in suggestions for possible improvements.

Creatures:
Thermo-Alchemist => Very good card for chipping away at life total, blocking small dudes, keeping walkers off their ultimates
Enigma Drake => Win condition. Play him late, only if you can haste him with opponent tapped out, or with counterspell protection

Instants:
Dispel => the current meta has a lot of instant speed removal, so on your turn this will prevent everything but Cast Out
Lightning Axe => for keeping the board clear, small discard theme for madness and pumping Drake
Expedite => Is this too cute? I don't like brown land battlement, I want to haste Drake and protect with Dispel, total 5 mana play. Is this better than just holding up one U with Dispel one turn earlier?
Galvanic Bombardment => works with discard subtheme, good for keeping the board clear
Pull From Tomorrow => I have not cast it yet. CGB says it is good. Is it?? I only run one
Disperse => Surprisingly good in this deck, can bounce a threat for a turn, protect Drake
Scatter to the Winds => Protecting Drake is very important, but three mana is painful to leave open. Do I need more??
Fiery Temper => very effective with discard subtheme
Hieroglyphic Illumination => CGB says this card is good. Cycling give Drake a pump and gets you a card. I run two

Sorcery:
Take Inventory => full set keeps the gas coming, fits with discard subtheme
Cathartic Reunion => this card is very very good in this deck. I am only running two, should it be more??
Collective Defiance => Have not been impressed with this card so far. Most often a 3 mana burn for 3 sorcery

Enchantments:
Fevered Visions => not an instant or a sorcery, but keeps the gas coming and chips away at the opponents life total
Lands: Only 22 lands, no brown lands, slightly more Red than Blue. With the all the card draw I have not been screwed too often.

Questions:
Should I increase the number of Cathartic Reunion? What to cut? Collective Defiance?
Should I dump Pull for Illumination?
Should I dump Expedite for more burn? More counters?
Is Dispel a trap? No one likes this card, but it seems to work for me. Should this be more copies of Disperse?

Nice job beating joker! He's actually pretty good so that's a decent accomplishment. His only weakness in this game is his deckbuilding. Oh, and he's not great at piloting them either.

Seems like we both started with the standard Izzet Burn template, very similar

Some questions:
Is Stormchaser Mage good enough? How essential is he?
Is Insult//Injury helping you win games? Some games I just need to hit once with Drake to win
Counters: I see you have Censor instead of a hard counter. Seems like this would be good for early game but not for protecting Drake. How is it working for you?

I was unimpressed by my original build, it basically crashed and burned.

I updated the list in the izzet thread:
viewtopic.php?f=52&t=10301&start=800#p559141
Stormchasers got the cut.
Alchemists joined the party.
Dispel is the Drake/alchemist protection, Censor is for tempo and cycling when your opponent has heaps of land.
Hieroglyphic has been surprisingly good, cycle early and draw late. Helps when you keep 2-landers and is never a dead card. I think this replaces Telling time.
Need to test it, but it works...

Fling seems like it would be a good card here. Insult>drake attack>fling would do obscene damage.

Anyone done a list for izzet mill/burn recently? Tried a very old list I had saved and it's still fun when you draw well, wondering if anyone has an updated list they've worked on.

My experience is that in many cases one hit with enigma drake wins the game, insult and fling were win more. YMMV

Lol haven't read this till now. It was probably me, but first week of jank doesn't count. Being at rank 13 using jank was actually a good result for me while all the rank 40 players were at low rank due to the new season. Also the surprise effect was important, i remember that game since it was the first time against a big drake.
But i'm not that bad! I use tier 1.5/2 decks, tier 1 is boring. But my deckbuilding skills are unbelievably good, i'm just too much impulsive sometimes, like casting 2 fogs in the same turn. Now i'm back at 40, deleted all the (extreme) jank and left the best or funniest deck. I'm ready for any challenge.

Yeah i usually don't lurk around constructed subforum the first month because i have lot of ideas, that are probably only jank so not even worth to be posted. But in this period i start building competitive decks for rank 40 and i usually take a look here if there are already 10 pages about that idea.
Building a drake combo deck, i will probably post it later.
