Holy **** Batman! These Servers Are Dastardly! Okay, I'm surprised that there isn't already a thread about this. I can't be the only one.

Servers rarely connect when you first launch the game. Connecting to opponent can sometimes take 3+ minutes. T It'll get to the Waiting on Opponent to Connect and the loading bar doesn't even move for a minute or so. After you win the match you will sometimes be left Retrying Connection multiple times because you know you won't get your gold if you don't. Sometimes you don't get your gold anyways, even after Reconnecting.


Is this what it was like or iOS and XBoxers in the past?

The steam servers are really bad atm. I've mostly been grinding gold against the ai, since I've had too many issues with Ranked matches since patchday. Even then I sometimes have to wait for it to reconnect before getting my gold.

It's pretty bad for me. I'm on iOS and I can't connect to the store or other players. I can't even tell if I'm earning gold from the AI because it displays some seemingly random number every time it reconnects. Quest progress doesn't seem to be saving(but I'm ok with that for now because I got stuck with the 60 coin "end your turn controlling a tapped creature" one).

I've been getting connection issues on both Steam and iOS since the last update, too. Not as bad as the OP's but still noticeable. It seems like at the end of every iOS game, it will DC from the server and I'll have to tell it to reconnect. I'll still get the coins when it does, but kinda a nuisance.

Xbox is having server issues as well, so it would seem everything is having a heart attack currently.

But its not as bad as before which is an improvement in a way. Also no major bugs right now! I say time to party

Tried to play a few times today, connection says no. It's strange: I've qued into the same person maybe 6 games out of the last 8, spread over yesterday and today, the rest of the time it says "search timed out". I'd almost think no one was queing, except an expansion just launched so that's not possible. Would like to be able to play more than 1 person, especially since s/he runs a vehicle deck that I hard counter

It's been taking about 3 minutes to either load into games or say "a player has quit" and kick me to the menu. The victory screen is also taking a few minutes to either register or go offline too. That and a few bugs on some important cards this time round is quickly making this an irritating expansion. The major bugs (sorry, "features") of the past such as timers, right click removal and game freezing vs PWs have been bearable with some adjustment, because at least it affected everyone equally or had a high chance of being fixed. Stainless's past record on the "minor" bugs is less inspiring.

I always felt for the Xbox players when this was going on. It was frustrating to hear how much it was affecting them and it cost us members/contributors (like Hakeem). Now it's happening on Steam and I'm experiencing it first hand. Since they don't typically update until sets, I'm foreshadowing an entire season of this and in turn killing the Steam community like it crippled the Xbox community. I just can't believe these sorts of issues aren't the utmost priority and being addressed with hot fixes. It's literally taking money out of their pockets and pushing players away from their game. I'm not sure how some of you Xboners survived and made it through this. It's absolutely killing my interest to play (even with a new set).

Not all Xbox players survived it. You really need to be sick to go through 2-3 hours if it and no matches

It's really the victory screen causing me the most problems now. Long delays, trying to connect to server... this morning I decided to play Easy AI cuz I had hit the cap last night and never played the Easy AI before. I just barely beat him and then in the victory screen , I had two loading swirls going at once. One for Saving and one for Connecting... went on for minutes until I turned it off and went for coffee. Might have something to do with me hitting the cap already

Anyway I have more patience and tolerance for Stsinless cuz that GY interaction is incredible now

Yeah, not just steam. Connection sucks on Xbox too. I thought they figured it out last update. Guess not.

Done with this for the day. 5 attempts to connect, get matched against some Abzan Elves player, they leave after many turns, victory screen fails to stay online after another 3 minutes of waiting. Hit retry and head to the kitchen for a bit, return to see the same prompt. Unplayable.

It's gotten that bad that post victory, it has 100% without fail today refused to connect to servers. Can't even exit the game anymore, I have to ctrl+alt+delete it.

Hell, the first days of new releases have always been spotty.
Moreover this being labor day weekend.

I've gotten plenty of reconnecting issues upon the end/victory screen, but I was doing just fine until hitting Rank 2+.
Now, around Rank 30 it's literally unbearable.

I still believe this is the usual Rank induced crap, let's give it until the 2nd/3rd of May.

It connects fine, but this afternoon it is disconnecting during every single game - usually at the end, whether I win or lose - I have to go through 2-3 minutes of connection for it to record the result.

'Ello? Anyone out there? I'd like to see my bloody quest at least. Balls to this.

Has steam server stopped working altogether? Just loaded up the game and reconnect error specifically saying the server is not available.

For xbone (assuming my relatively minor hiccups are average) it's still better than 2 seasons back. From what some of you steamers are saying, sounds like you're close to as bad as we used to have it. That sucks; wouldn't wish that on anybody who enjoys the game. Hopefully they don't wait until next release to sort it out...

Duels should have some kind of spiritual-zen-calm-inducing messages/images during the loading screens.

It should also say "just be patient" or "don't panic" in a calm, placid female voice whenever you try to connect.

as a guy that went through all of this (like Timh) a few seasons back, I found the thing that helped the most is just to massage your own prostate during the loading screens. otherwise you lose your mind
