So how do y'all feel about Declaration in Stone? On one hand with the inclusion of Cast Out and Censor, it might be better to roll with those and not give our opponent card advantage and a revolt trigger, but at the same time if these token decks do pick up I can see the card being very useful in the meta, and 2 mana to permanently deal with something is still good.

I think it will likely make a comeback between the 5 gods, the new token spam, scrapheap scrounger, and ramp making ulamog, the ceaseless hunger more common. This is a nice 2 mana card that deals with all of these threats. Declaration in Stone will probably make a decent resurgence in control decks as it is low on mana even if its sorcery speed and deals with a lot of threats that traditional removal just can't answer. The black trial is also something I have been thinking of when it comes to dealing with indestructable and hexproof, but its worse as the rest of the field needs to be clear, is still sorcery speed and doesn't hit tokens either.

You're still going to want dec: good against tokens, gods, and it's cheap.

This is the list I've been playing since yesterday. Around 20 games so far and I only lost 3.

Hela
3 x Fatal Push
2 x Blessed Alliance
2 x Pull from Tomorrow
1 x Telling Time
3 x Censor
3 x Grasp of Darkness
1 x Declaration in Stone
1 x Kefnet the Mindful
2 x Scatter to the Winds
2 x Spell Shrivel
2 x Anguished Unmaking
2 x Cast Out
2 x Glimmer of Genius
2 x Languish
1 x Disciple of the Ring
1 x Confirm Suspicions
1 x Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
1 x Ob Nixilis Reignited
1 x Torrential Gearhulk
1 x Sorin, Grim Nemesis

1 x Plains
3 x Island
5 x Swamp
2 x Shambling Vent
2 x Sunken Hollow
2 x Drowned Catacomb
2 x Glacial Fortress
2 x Isolated Chapel
3 x Aether Hub
4 x Evolving Wilds

Aside from the win cons (which I believe are a matter of preference), I wouldn't recomend messing too much with the spells. You can tweak some numbers, but they've being great to me.

Makes me want to start building hyper-aggressive agro, or completely non-interactive midrange. Looks good Fel.

Here's a quote from the early impresssions thread that should answer your question:

felbatista wrote:
Kefnet, the Mindful only made an appearence twice. In one game he helped me win faster, but I was already in firm control of the game (Big Jace close to Ult). In the second game he drew me a ton of cards before eating an Anguished Unmaking. Overall, decent. As I told GoA last night, I believe the only mandatory win cons for Esper control now are Bluehulk and Disciple, and the rest is a question of preferences. Kefnet is on par with the others, and running him or not is not a huge mistake either way.

The full post has other observations, if you're interested. But the TL;DR is that he's about average, on par with your other options.

Looks pretty much spot on to me. I won't even fight you on the TT/Censor split.

Kefnet is the only thing that looks questionable to me at this point.

Seems like almost every game in my Esper control deck, I draw Kefnet. I've never been disappointed to have him. It's always been a card advantage scenario. I've been running him with one less card draw engine in the deck (basically in lieu of one of my card draw cards).

Kefnet is a better Gearhulk in my opinion. Because usually what your doing with Hulk is flashing back either Glimmer of Genius or Confirm Suspicions.

I can see Kefnet + Disciple as the main win cons.

I don't disagree that it's the most questionable card in the deck. I included him in my inital draft of the deck mainly to try the card, and it has performed well enough. At this point, it even won me a game all by itself.

Magic's a simple game, 2 people take turns playing cards and in the end Divinevert wins 2-0...

U/B has been working well enough for me atm, but I'll own up to Kefnet being much better than I gave him credit for. Well, at least in terms of how often he can swing now we have Memory/Pull or even his active over a couple of turns.

I'll try your Esper build out, I've been missing Telling Times in Jeskai due to a few mana screws that cycling Censor just doesn't help with, so I'm hoping I don't experience the same here. :p

With all the card draw and catch-all answers (Cast Out, Unmaking), I haven't felt the need to add more counterspells (I'm still playing 8 + Bluehulk and Disciple, after all). It's true that I haven't faced that many control mirrors, though (but I won the few I had).

I did have some minor mana problems in a couple of games, but it was mainly a problem of not drawing lands instead of drawing the wrong ones. To fix that, I'd be more inclined to add more lands instead of more TTs.

I'm standing by Memory's use vs mill. That's 2 Izzet Tutetards who learnt a very harsh lesson about leaving Kefnet in play and putting Memory in the yard :p

Confirm; tapping out for walkers is a little more dangerous given the improved removal we have and in my experience if you cast Confirm then you've pretty much won.

My gut says the same, I just like how Ob can kill. I dunno, I want both but in an anti-aggro version it seems greedy
