Welcome to 3 Card Magic, the most minimalistic Magic format in the world!
The basic concept is simple: make a deck consisting of any three Magic Cards, and try to win as many games as possible! Of course, there is more to it than that:
The Rules
1. Rounds will alternate between 'Vanilla' (following the rules of a normal vintage tournament with the below exceptions), and 'Special rounds' (new formats with their own restrictions on deck-building). Each player creates a deck of three Magic cards following the restrictions of that round. Decks are submitted to me via private message entitled "3cm Round #". My deck is finalized before reading these PMs; if you'd like me to send you a verification PM with my list in it, just ask. You may update your decklist up until the deadline. (Unless you've asked me to share my list with you.) Rounds will be once per week, from Wednesday to Tuesday (exact times will vary, I will give a heads-up in the thread a few hours before closing a round). 2. Each deck will play against each other deck twice, once going first and once going second. Wins are worth 3 points, draws are worth 1 and losses are worth 0. 3. Normal Magic rules apply to a game of 3CM, except that players do not lose if they would draw from an empty library. (Note that draws are not skipped: if you can get a card back into your library you will draw it as you would in a normal Magic game.) 4. Games are played with the contents of both decks known to each player at all times. Players will always play optimally and to win. 5. If the original source of a random effect (i.e. coinflip) comes from one player's deck, the other player chooses its outcome. 6. Effects that get cards from outside the game (Wishes, Research // Development, Ring of Ma'ruf) cannot be used to find anything. 7. When the round is closed, a spreadsheet of all the decks and matchups is posted, to be filled in by the players. Players are encouraged to double-check the matchups graded by other players, since mistakes are often made when complicated decks are involved. 8. When the scores are completed, the player(s) with the highest score are allowed to choose a new format to be added to the next format poll. 9. In Vanilla, every card in the Top three decks (except for basic lands) are added to the Vanilla banned list for upcoming rounds. Special rounds have their own banned lists depending on the format.
Now that this poll is officially over, it's time to congratulate Aaarrrgh for designing Hill, which has been decided by popular vote to be the Card of the Month for October 2013!

Wow, no always banned list. I guess since we're auto-banning cards, we might as well start with them all.
Regarding next week, though, how will the format be chosen? We need some sort of format option list to vote on. Should we do nominations or maybe just pick up where Rush left off?
Anyway, I'm glad this is a thing now, and excited to get back into it.
There will be an always banned list for the alternative rounds. They will be allowed in Vanilla until the auto-banning system eats them.
And yeah, we need some format options. If people would send format suggestions with their decks, or just give some options in this thread ASAP that would be good.

I PMed ya with my deck, went with an old standby, but I know the banned list is gonna eat most of them up next round, so I've been working on several rogue builds. I'm having a hard time figuring out decent disruption to go with them, though.
Again, no banned list is just for this round. For Vanilla, I will be banning every card in the top three decks each round. For the alternative rounds, the 'Always Banned' list will be used.
Speaking of which, because no one made any format suggestions, I decided to just suggest five myself.

Depends on which Midnight you are referring to... Where I am, it will be midnight in about 90 minutes. But I will probably go to bed before then, and close the round in the morning. My morning. Which probably will be around midnight for you. Give or take. I'll be in the States next week, so it will be easier to keep this straight by then.
Also, since the poll ended in a draw, I'll just pick my personal favorite for the next round (it's good to be the king): Round 2 will be Archenemy! Start plotting your schemes! Also, since I'm terrible at metagame analysis, I will take suggestions for if any Schemes should be banned.

Introductions are in Order might need review. It would seem to cause a lot of "Introducing Emrakul" draws, where the first person to put their Emrakul on the table loses.

I think you're forgetting the new legend rule. Wouldn't the first person win? I agree, though, that Introductions + Emrakul doesn't sound very fun.

Nah:
Player 1, Turn 1: I drop Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Player 2, Turn 1: I drop Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Player 1, Turn 2: Swing for 15, annihilator 6, player 2 loses Emrakul. Player 2, Turn 2: I got nothing. Player 1, Turn 3: Swing for the win.
