What about Pyxis of Pandemonium? Why not take it for a sideboard card in case we come across a deck with a lot of scry?

I think I would rather maindeck Annul than board dark betrayal. We also need something to take out when we board in gainsay.

That's a pretty good point. I'll change my vote to Annul.

I'm tempted to just hate draft evangel. Annul isn't *that* good and Dark Bet. is sideboard. If we're going for a "playable" it's annul, but I think keeping the evangel out of white player's hand might be more valuable.

Evangel is the card I overrated the most in this set. It's an expensive goblin rally, basically.

Annul is pretty miserable, might as well nab something we don't want to play against.

That's cool, I just don't mind playing against Evangel.

I saw this pack and thought "Wow! A rare! I bet we take that."

Then look 3 more cards down...

That marauder is tempting... I guess I'll say naiad for now.

Windmill slam that naiad.

EDIT:

I think marauder is worth looking at, but feel an evasive creature that can be a 2-for-1 is better. That being said, a marauder into a merchant or vice versa is probably game. Something to consider.

Nimbus Naiad

I lost more times to a bestowed Naiad than to the Marauder. We could even wheel something here.

Marauder, mostly out of protest

Everybody seems in love with that Naiad, but IMO she's... okay. a Wind Drake that can be a Spectral Flight first is nice (even at :4::u:.), but it's not as amazing as a lot seem to make it out to be. It's hardly a "windmill slam" especially not pick 4 when there's an black devotion card for our black devotion deck in the pack alongside it.

The removal sucks in this format, so an evasive body that drops early becomes a legitimate threat.

Also, two-for-ones are inherently always good. This is why loathsome catophebliawhatevers can win GPs.

Beyond that, just because a card benefits from a mechanic doesn't mean it's an auto-include when our deck focuses on said mechanic. Our creatures suck. Swinging in with a bunch of them at once isn't going to help us win games we were going to lose, and it won't help us win games we were already going to win, but it may make us lose games we were going to win because we tapped out or something.

especially this set. even underpowered fliers do really well
naiad is the obvious choice. only way i would've picked something over it is if it was decent removal

Uh. both Wind Drake and Spectral Flight are fantastic limited cards. Combining them is just nuts.

I did play with Maurauder last night and it it's sweet if you have a couple black dudes on the board and villain thinks he's stabilized with a couple 3/3s. I even used it's haste on something other than itself by playing it and an eidolon on the same turn (assuming tapping your deathtouch guy to do 1 is a reasonable play...).

I would hem and haw over this but... in the end MM is an aggro card and we are more controlly. Naiad in good in every deck.
