Like a little kid at Christmas, I always find this the most difficult part. We've spent time discussing spoilers, building decks we can't play and watching MtGO/paper enjoy the set for the past several days. Now it's our turn and we still have to wait for the updates/patch. Ugh hurry up already!

I've got one brand new deck to build, and one good deck to tweak. I'm mostly excited about story mode, as usual. Oh, and I guess new card sleeves. I would REALLY like a new background, but right now i'm rocking a Chandra avatar on a volcanic background and it's perfect.

I always enjoy the story mode too. It's always the first thing I do (and it's always over way too quick).

Card Sleeves etc are something I still haven't bothered with. I've got 32 or 33k currently but I want to stay well ahead of the sets just so I never have to farm again. I can just play leisurely/casually and regardless of play variance, I will always maintain a buffer/float/balance. If I ever get way out in front, then I'll probably grab the stuff but like I mentioned in another thread, all my decks are the default Jace/background and I just let it auto assign my deck name. I'm only ever working on a small number of decks at the start of a season and by the end of the season (and my list is full of jank) it's fun to spin your deck list and play random decks you're not sure of. Adds some interest/variety when you're looking for reasons to play and a humorous level of 'what was I thinking?".

How consistent have they been in the past with their start times? I don't remember now but it feels like it wasn't too far off in the +/- overall? Regardless, I gotta be Dad first so I never actually see the set drop. Sometime tonight though, it's ON!

i think i remember last time it didn't come out until like 10pm, maybe 10:30pm ET. I was scrambling to play a bit before bed.

Just hoping for a smooth release unlike last time, I can't focus on sandwurms if there's another infinite mana bug floating around haha

It's not a bug it's called a combo with Procession and flickerdrazis.

Realistically it will be Thursday before we get it in UK. Not sure if I am up for a red-eye launch this time out. We should also set a challenge for the first recorded game of the inifinte combo.

Eh, usually about midnight and I'm up then anyway so get a couple hours to do campaign before going to bed.

Did you two post your brews you're trying?

I guess we're waiting on patch notes?

They didn't really say anything though tbh, just the usual "here's some minor fixes (but not everything as we forgot to put mechanised production fix on for some reason")
and some minor bugs - we all know the major bugs are found out after release haha

Last chance to guess the big bug for this patch? Hopefully it isn't hotfix worthy again.

They called them patch notes but like you said, there was nothing to them. I just was assuming; since it was so vague/limited, that they'd release something more detailed like they do just before the update drops. Kinda of, this is how far we got this time. Knowing Stainless though, that's probably all they did and none of the known bugs/problems will have been addressed.

No phases, just play as fast as you can against the clock.

Let's hope any major bug (likely maybe) is limited to a card or cards rather than one of the new mechanics. This way some potential decks may end up being nerfed but not just wreck a potential new meta.

I'm so pumped to play with new stuff I spent last night pre-building 6 new decks. Got all the existing cards, avatars, and sleeves locked and loaded - so I can just drop in the new cards to bring em to 60 and roll.

Like a kid on Christmas Eve, indeed.
