@Eon, I was pretty pissed off behind the scenes, been running for well over an hour no issues and this line of thunderstorms just blankets the **** out of the east coast and wrecks everything. Still have crappy connection issues on and off right now. I think everyone enjoyed it and considering it came together in under 5 days with me learning how to do graphics, fading, music, I am pretty happy how it turned out...thanks to everyone who came out and fought through the issues. I hope it was good for you as well.

I am going over the recordings now and splicing them together...so far, looks good. I'll post that link up when it is through. Then, on to tournament rules writing and stuff.

I also wanted to thanks some people whose help has been great appreciated that made my life easier and got things rolling: Rob, for research and getting the card graphics to me for the podcast; HolyCrap_WOTF, who made those rad "Radio Amonkhet" graphics and is making the Trials of Amonkhet banners; Atmadog for his Cockney accent; and Nighthawk, for taking it like a champ.

@Nighthawk, Y not both?

Try not to fret it. Even with all the crap everyone was giving you (all in good fun) I think it was a success. The biggest downfall? Now everyone is going to be badgering you guys for more content like this, have fun with that :P

I enjoyed Radio Amonkhet, thanks for organizing it and going through with it.

As for the technical problems, I blame Nighthawk, who tempted fate in the other podcast:

[35:16-36:00]
You wouldn't see issues like this in the TRUE podcast Kappa

I missed the start, so I'll make sure to catch the full version on youtube when it's up.

It's cool, the other podcast was just super jealous that they forgot to talk about Labyrinth guardian so they then DDoS'd us, we'll remember this for next time haha

We talked about Labyrinth Guardian. I said it was a needed card for U, and that I considered it to be relevant pressure. They disagreed. They were wrong. We just didn't spend much time on it as it's not a super important card for the set, and it's also not enough to put blue aggro on the table as a serious contender - although, I should mention that on many occasions, when I've set out to build a UW deck, I've felt that my options at 2 were sorely lacking, and I fully believe that this - while not an excellent card - actually does a decent job of filling the gap in the curve (without running a bunch of highly questionable fliers). That deck still won't be tier 1 though, unless I grossly underestimate how much the new control cards will up its power level.

This isn't the card the :u: aggro wants though. Having decent stats for a :u: creature and the ability to recur itself is nice and all, but the lack of evasion hurts it a lot. When you are in tempo land, vanilla beater with questionable stats isn't the droid you are looking for.

Yeah, I disagree with you on that one. I like that it trades fairly well with many 2 and 3 CMC creatures. And I like that I can recurr it. It's not the greatest card ever, but it's better than a lot of 2 drops UW has access to. As for evasion, most of the evasive blue creatures have a single point of toughness. They can't even attack through a thopter. They die to ballista. And once they are gone, that's it. I'm not a fan of decks that will just lose to a single Pia, or similar - because cards that can trade up with 2/1 fliers are many and easy to come by.

Perhaps this card just simply isn't enough though.

Oh I wasn't saying that the other options we have available are any better, just that this isn't exactly good either. Especially since the whole "dies when targeted by a spell" thing means we can't even reliably pump it to try and go that route.

OK, video upload is complete. Actual commentary and bad cockney accent starts at around 5 minutes...there is a link to that in the description.
