If I have a Cytoplast Manipulator and evoke a Shriekmaw will my Marchesa, the Black Rose return it to the battlefield?
I'm assuming that I can stack the triggers so that the Shriekmaw will be netted by marchesa's resurrection ability.
Bonus question- is there a way other than graft and the tribal "etb with an additional +1/+1" lords that I can use to have all my creatures etb with a +1/+1 counter on them?

That is a lovely card but won't fit my color restrictions. You get full marks but no bonus.

Oh wait, I mixed up the color identities of the two Marchesas. Nevermind then.

Olivia, Mobilized for War might work, if you can keep your hand full of cards to pitch. :V Unspeakable Symbol if you can gain life reliably.

Bonus: Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is 9/10 synergy with Marchesa 1: non-Human creatures you control will revive to either Mike or Marchesa, so you just need to be able to reliably toss counters on Mike to have Marchesa revive him.

Any instant-speed or triggered +1/+1 counters will work. Here's what I could find:

Amok (meh)
Dwarven Weaponsmith (yuck!)
Havengul Runebinder (could be cool with recurring zombies!)
Indulgent Aristocrat (same thing, but Vampires)
Lawless Broker (depending what else is going on, this could be VERY useful)
Olivia, Mobilized for War (Bam! I think you're looking for this)
Unspeakable Symbol (This would be quite effective)
Dragon Blood (first of the artifacts now)
Fabrication Module (more expensive, but also energy counters)
Power Conduit (little more setup, lot better rate)
Steel Overseer (for the artifact love)
Thopter Squadron (good time to note that ALL of these types of cards are phenomenal with her and a sac outlet, as are all the Graft creature)

If we're going to mention tribal-specific ones, we might as well mention Metallic Mimic.

Unspeakable Symbol (as Edacade mentioned above) is the most-played card in Marchesa tBR commander decks, per edhrec.com .

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. Except for Tevish Szat. All he did was remind me how expensive Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is. :nonono:
Tempted to cram it full of modular creatures.

I can parse the sentence, but I don't understand it in this context.

Ooh, while we're on the subject, will Marchesa get my creatures out of Endless Whispersing?

Yes, assuming it has a +1/+1 counter. If your creature dies, you control both triggered abilities, so you can choose the order they're put on the stack.

Aww.

Speaking of Modular and expensive cards, you could get a very large Ravager in very short order, but unlike sadly pricey Mikaeus (12-15 when I got one for Meren, justified as the only expensive card for the deck I had to buy, now more like 16-20 it seems) I don't think Ravager would return on monetary investment in EDH.

Undying, though, is still good synergy with Marchesa. Flayer of the Hatebound might be the best, but Geralf's Mindcrusher could have some play if you have graveyard interaction or know an opponent who doesn't.

Unleash cards are synergistic with Marchesa as well. The question is whether they're worth playing even knowing they all can keep coming back.
