With all these threads on future speculation, I wanted to add one for past reflection.

This thread is for undervalued cards. Either cards you think others undervalue, or realized through playing against them that they were better than you thought.

I'll start the ball rolling with Multiform Wonder. I never think to consider it in decks. It's got a load of abilities, but a 3/3 for 5 mana isn't where my mind goes when considering cards for 5CMC spot. But that card has beaten me in 2 of the 3 times I can recall encountering it, and threatened hard to beat me the other time. Seems like I'm always using a deck with damage based removal when I encounter it, and it dodges burn all day long (played against it yesterday with monogreen and had to cast a pump spell on a Gaea's Revenge and Monstrous Onslaught with all damage directed at MW just to save myself from lethal, and opp followed that by casting a 2nd one next turn to close out the game). In an energy shell where it's always stocked with plenty of ability fuel to fly and lifelink and stat manipulate, I think it's way better than I ever gave it credit for.

What about you?

It's not a bad option in Simic Ramp tbh. Image

I'll say Adverse Conditions.

It's Frost Breath. It's ramp. It's a body (pinger/chumper) at instant speed. It's a pilot for Smuggler's Copter/Aethersphere Harvester.

It has consistently resulted in MASSIVE tempo swings for me.

Lol. I run a single copy in a Rakdos Eggs deck that I pull out for the tap artifacts challenge. US has done work for me. Deck durdles and controls the board, never winning before I have 7+ mana on the board. I've gotten recursion loops going with that single copy that's caused opps to concede when they realized that stupid card is going to remove every permanent they cast the rest of game. Sure it's our resident joke joke, but it can be a deadly one on occasion.

Lightning axe, it kills pretty much everything, including all the important vehicles at instant speed for one mana and yet I never see any decks really running it, including some reanimator decks which blows my mind even if you don't run any madness/discard synergy it's still a really solid card.

My current build runs it. It was a mistake to not run in the tournament build.

Outside of Grapple and maybe the new self-mill 5 card, we just lack ways to consistently turn on Delirium. I don't think it's consistent enough unless it's hitting 2 random cards by at least T4.

Chandra's Ignition can work some horrific damage in the proper combinations:

Cast it on Ormendahl, Profane Prince for disgusting amounts of life gain.
Use it with Gifted Aetherborn for some life gain and a wave of devastation among destructible creatures.

If you have Ormendahl out you most likely don't need Chandra's Ignition to win...

Ignition is good with the Gods, though...

Yeah but it's extra flashy to use the ignition, same with Omnath.

In a dedicated revolt deck hidden stockpile is disgusting, I wish I realizd earlier i this season that it didn't cost 3 mana.

Also borrowed grace is totally a less telegraphed valor in akros and should be run over it :P

Hmm, I've been enjoying Gather the Pack in my Delirium deck. Usually draws a creature and enables delirium pretty well. Late game, often draws two creatures for two mana, which is what my deck needs.

Speaking of Kambal - on a scale of 1-10, how terrible would a mardu hate deck running Kambal, Harsh Mentor, and Vryn Wingmare be?

Kambal, Consul of Allocation is an auto-include in Orzhov ( ) Control ... He is not underrated unless well you don't play Orzhov Control

I figured that out early in the season. But really, why not both?
