Discard salt is real. Don't play with it much (or face it much beyond the occasional TKS) so I hadn't been thinking about how much peeps hate seeing it. I was playing my monoblack deck yesterday for a daily challenge and my opp stalled out every one of their turns (like they threw the controller and walked away or something) after I cast back to back mindbenders and utterly destroyed their hand.

Thankfully I won a few turns later, since I made them discard all their answers.

Anyway the missing pieces are some cycling cards, that is lands with cycling, sweeper with cycling and artifact/enchantment hate with cycling. They would be all good in duels, since we have no sideboard.

Man, mono-B with sacrifice effects, Languish, Unburden, and Mindbenders is going to be vicious. Don't think it will be top tier, but no one will want to play against it.

Red got some great stuff in the uncommons/commons. Not sure, but at a guess I'll assume Green? Maybe White.

Seems like if you can run cartouches, Trial of Ambition is clearly better. But idk about for control where you wouldn't run cartouches. That's a question I'd ask you. But facing it in control decks that run a handful or more of Walkers, OoL is such a pain with the zombie tokens that it seems worth the extra mana cost. Maybe the question should be what's the Walker threshold for OoL over ToA?

Red, easily. It missed almost all its power cards; By Force, Combat Celebrant, Consuming Fervor, Glorious End, both Prowess dorks, Sweltering Suns. I'd mention Tormenting Voice but Cathartic Reunion is just better most of the time anyhow.

Got Glorybringer and both the Manticores, but still.

Except for Cycling lands, Harsh Mentor (I still can't believe we got that) and Channeler Initiate, my predictions were pretty accurate. Sad to see no Cycling lands and Channeler, everything else is in place it seems.

I actually think Green not getting Initiate might mean Green got the short stick this time around...
