I've hit legend three times (once during patron meta, playing Majordomo Mage; then again the next month with midrange Hunter; then again a few months ago playing secrets Hunter), and ground my way to rank 5 every month when I wasn't legend ... until last month. Then I quit. It just got too tedious. Duels is more fun and that's where I'm putting all my creative energy.

I used to play before but the lack of interaction during opponent's turn is just boring. No instants, no activated abilities.

Lol yes, it was the most painful of the three grinds to legend. But still, Majordomo Mage is strongly favoured against Patron, which is a big part of the reason I played it. I still remember the last game I played to hit legend: it was against Rogue, which is an even more favourable matchup. I was very pumped immediately loading in, and even more pumped after winning :D

.. but yeah I barely care about Hearthstone anymore.

I'm also playing HS, though not as much as I used to.

One-time Legend (November 2015; in the midst of LOE; playing Demonzoo in the SecretPally-meta); rank 5 at least most of the time beforehand. After that I played less for the next few months and paused starting with Karazhan. Played a little during the first days of MSG; started to play again with the release of UN'Goro (but have a lot of catch-up to do and probably won't go into spike-mode as much again).

Joly#21574 EU pls add me
I started on the Old gods expansion last year and I loved it and played it a lot (so much that I hit legend in 3 times in a row in the 1st 3 months I played). (Ironically I used the prize from steam showdown 2 to buy the adventures and some HS packs :D).
After Karazhan the meta became really toxic and with mean streets the game just became totally unenjoyable so I almost stopped playing. Right now I am having tons of fun with Ungoro though.
Btw does anyone play Shadowverse? I started playing it after HS become unplayable, and I found it to be an almost strictly better version of Hearthstone (if you are a more competitive player that strives for higher winrates).

I have some spare cash in my android account and I am tempted to download ... But I am not 100% convinced ... Interface seems too "cartoonish" for my tastes

The game's free, you can download and play a bit and then decide if you want to spend money on it.

Yeah I was a bit sceptical about SV at first too but the gameplay turned out to be very skill intensive and rewarding.
The devs also give a ton of free stuff and the grind is very fast, so you can reliably have 1 or 2 tier 1 decks without spending a cent, unlike HS where you are expected to at least drop 40 to have a competitive deck

I really wanted to like hearthstone as it's competetive and allows for casual gameplay with enough skill. I started in beta and played for some time after launch, but I found the game extremely boring compared to the depth and diversity of mtg and just quit :-( I thought about returning just to play a competetive ccg, but there's just too much grinding to grt back into hs.
