Yeah that game 3 was so intense, i couldn't take my eyes off it, it was such a balancing act between getting too aggressive and playing too cautiously but patience payed off in the end

Not sure why CGB didn't kill the Liliana in game 3 when he had the chance. That allowed mobius to relieve some of the pressure and finally, in tandem with Herald, start taking creatures off the board. GGs to both participants.

I'm depressed and quite broken-hearted on this one. It is my 4th top 8, 3rd semis, but I have consistently failed to get the job done. I don't think I played well, I had some large brain-farts in game 2 and game 3. I think game three was over when I missed land drop 3 and he had Liliana for the third time in three games, but I could have played more aggressive. Instead of forcing Herald to trade with Skysov, I gave myself one more turn to draw Unlicensed, and instead Mobius drew enthusiast to make more artifacts for Herald, making my board obsolete. It wasn't a good odds play from my side, as mobius has way more relevant draws than I have in the spot, I should have shoved with Skysov right away. Of course, not killing a token with Unlicnesed in game two was truly pathetic on my part. I have an inner optimist, he talks me into stupid things all the time. You can hear my reasoning on the video. I feel like a colossal failure of a duelist, hopefully some new Bolas-ish Magic cards will show up and help me forget all about this. Despite it all, I am glad mobius is back in the tournament mix and I wish him well in the finals

Eh, i think calling the disintergration play pathetic is a little harsh, you read correctly that mobius would've held back the westvale if he had any other land in hand and you were already behind on board, so went all in hoping he wouldn't topdeck a land, problem was he had the second westvale haha

Like even if you'd killed a token there it still takes your entire turn, you have nothing on board and mobius still has 4 1/1's it's not like you just won if you did do it. Mobius even had an Ob in hand so an empty board would've been almost as damning as ormandahl tbh

I'm angry and depressed at this match up as I really wanted CGB to pull through.

In the first Hakumite, CGB lost to Hakeem's Thopters in the finals when he'd already beaten them in the swiss with his GR Ramp deck. Just being a bit more prepared for aggro could've gave him a chance. In the 2nd Fightclub, I had a talk with CGB about Tempo being a great option for the meta and he listened by playing UW Spirits and I went with Bant Tempo. He beat me 2-0 in the swiss but I manage to win that tournament and beat him 3-1 in the finals. That matchup is still 50/50. The 3rd fightclub was one no one really took seriously as CGB played Temerge not breaking quarterfinals. And then theres this one, where I think everyone (including me) was too lazy to brew something other than a standard port. I think BG Sneks or Jund Sneks could've been the deck of choice as theres more consistency in those decks than vehicles.

I also feel beaten down right now. Having only made 12th place on Steam, 9th place on Xbox, and not making so much as 1 streak on KOTH. I feel like I should pass up on the next tournament and give myself a much needed break from Magic and just run the KOTH.

Vert 1, Unbeatable 2

Game 1, he was slow and played no vehicles and I ran him over.

Game 2, I was slow and he had T2 Heart of Kiran and I pitched a second black source and so I couldn't play Yahenni's.

Game 3, finally a competitive game. I still had a pretty slow draw. I held off a fatal attack and then face two options: pitch my hand with Cathartic to dig for a sweeper or play Disciple and hope to last a turn so the Disciple could take over. He had Unlicensed Disintegration and I didn't have enough mana to shut it down. He says he topdecked it, which makes me a sad panda.

Good luck in the Finals, Unbeatable. I went second every game, which I'm only mildly salty af about.

man, same thing when I played him - all 3 games on the draw. Hard to beat a good aggressive beat down deck like that being on the draw. It'd be nice if Duels had a way to fix who's on the play based on who sent the invite. I can't imagine it'd be that difficult to code... I'm not trying to be a bitch about my loss last round, as it's altogether likely to have not changed the end result in my favor, but damn it's rough being on the draw vs aggro.

Haven't watched the replay yet, but what's up with you ditching a needed mana source again? I didn't think you'd test your luck after the Mountain fiasco last round, lol
