Seriously, this makes me a little sick. Thassa AND Gary? I honestly have no clue what I'd take if I were drafting to win. If I didn't care, I'd probably just take Thassa.

Also, you get to have like 4 potential other cards to table.

I love that this is a pretend draft, because I can sound very smart saying that the correct pick is Gary, even though in a real draft I would take Thassa.

Gary is everything that our game plan is. We aren't looking to win by a few points of unblockable damage a turn - we're looking to stall them out, and Gary does that in both directions. Thassa is great at smoothing out draws helping us find what we need, but actually doesn't further the game plan herself.

It's a question of Card Power vs Synergy. Gary has more card power, but Thassa is more synergy.

Gah, it's a tough decision.

I'm sticking with Gary unless someone can offer a good argument.

I'd take Gary here. Thassa's scry ability is why you play her in limited, and while impressive, it's not a blowout like Gary.

We don't have enough blue to turn on thassa,so I guess gary over scolar and sip of hemlock

For the sake of the game plan? Gary.

Thassa is still solid as an enchantment that scries each turn and makes your guys unblockable.

That said, our whole deck is built around Gary, so it would be stupid to pass on our center piece!

And we deserve the third one next pick for passing those dollars. Also, unblockability given out by Thassa has won me some games.

It's pretty close. But that 2nd Gary is key and Thassa knows we might not see another one. Finally blue was cut so bad in pack 1 we have no chance of turning the god on. Plus, what are we going to make unblockable? Returned Phalanx for ?

We are probably going to lose terribly to the blue deck, but oh well. GARY it is!

Hm. Tough pick. Thoughtseize can get rid of problem cards for us, like bombs or removal or whatnot. Baleful is good at every point in the game, and the emissary is as well. If this was a paper draft I'd grab the seize, but I think I want the eidolon more for this draft.

Eidolon.

Three solid picks here; Thoughtseize, Emissary, and Eidolon. I think Thoughtseize is a great card in the early game, when we can get an idea of our opponent's game plan and try to match against it, but is pretty bad once our opponent starts topdecking, which is something that I think our opponents will do often. As such, though it pains me to let it go, I think we must.

That leaves it down to the Emissary and Eidolon. Both are fantastic picks for us. The Emissary is a powerhouse that can cause wins out of nowhere, but the Eidolon holds off all the scary big green beats.

I think we don't have enough in the 4cmc slot, so I'm going to go with Emissary.

A whole lot of stuff for us in here! I'm a huge fan of wavecrash triton, but we don't have the support for it. I love eidolon, but the emissary is the better bestow card. That said, our curve is pretty high, so eidolon might actually work better for us. Thoughtseize is pretty decent too, especially since we're low on removal.

Damn, tough choice. I'll go with the emissary, because I think we kind of need a way to win the game, but I really wouldn't mind the eidolon to help us survive the early game.

Our curve is not bad, we have an Eidolon, the Singer, Vaporkin, Phalanx, Cure. We do need a finisher.

You guys passed thassa? I quit.

Emissary combos with Thassa's bounty, and indirectly with ashiok (can use their creatures and discard ours).
Eidolon goes well with siren and is solid anti-aggro.

Still, I think we will get more Eidolons, so Emissary.

Can't pass a thassa then then draft a thoughtseize for money. Ima pretend this is one of my rare-redrafts.
