Excellent game 2. Game 1 wasn't that close since he had to mulligan to 5, but he kept it competitive given the situation. Game 2 was an absolute nailbiter.
Precursor: In my deck tech video, I mentioned adding more Harnessed Lightnings to deal with things, 'because a Thalia can ruin my day'.
G1: Rather than mulligan to 6, I gambled I would draw another land by T3, but failed to find one until T6. Hard to beat Mardu Vehicles that way... Thalia on curve was rough, and even worse when DCG had the 2nd copy to play after I finally managed to deal with the 1st. Feel like I made the best of a bad situation and managed to put up a little fight, but couldn't turn it around. In the end it was a poor choice to keep the hand I did.
G2: I had a bit of the opposite problem, flooding out a bit. Thalia came out on curve again on opps side, and while I had a quick answer for the 1st, he drew another a few turns later that I couldn't get off the board. Could maybe have pulled it off despite that - had a sizable token army - but never found the Valor or Abbey to do so.
I tested DCGs deck before playing him, and came away feeling I'd lose. Some unusual choices, but it can go really hard very fast with ride downs and the 7/11. Didn't lose a game when testing on the ladder; just leaving roadkill.
Good games to DCG-MTG - best of luck going forward. All 4 Thalias in 2 games was just brutal
round 2 vs YankSpanker - 5c Armageddon
I take it 2 game to 0.
Not much to say. Opps deck isn't meant to be serious and games were pretty straightforward.
G1 rode to victory on the back of a flipped Militia Captain and a Aethersphere Harvester.
G2 had the T2 Dragon Fodder, T3 Garrison, T4 Valor, T5 P&K superpump 6000 nut draw.
GGs to YankSpanker. May you successfully troll someone with a victory before the tourney ends. Please let it be a vehicle deck
round 3 vs Black Barney - Bant Tempo
I take it 2 games to 1
G1 I mulled a 5 lander into a 5 lander. Prob should have gone to 6, but didn't want to risk a worse situation as at least I had Garrison into Valor in hand. Of course, as is the way of the world in Duels, I drew nothing but land for most of the game. I assumed he had counter magic up and my life would be 100% difficult, but when he tapped counter lands to cast a creature T3 and I was able to drop Garrison free of harm - I thought I might have a shot if he would just tap out again so I could play Valor. He didn't (no need, holding advantage on board state) so after taking a turn off on the off chance he would get greedy and play something mainphase, I had to toss Valor out into the counterspell I expected, because I had no other options and he had me on a clock. Finally drawing a nonland card next turn, I tried casting Chandra, but that ate a counter too. It was probably over even if she had landed, but was def over when she didn't. I should have just flipped Garrison and gone out with a bang instead of a whimper.
My game crashed when I went into the menu to send an invite, so I had to restart twitch and the match got spit in two videos. Vid 2 has games 2 & 3.
G2 I kept a 2 lander, as I had a pair of Copters to dig for more, and pilots to crew them. It took me a while to find another land and I'm sure I would have lost if not for the digging to speed things up. We both went pretty wide, not fearing sweepers - but he had a bunch of mana dorks while I had Copters flying over head. Valor in Akros into Angel of Invention sealed the deal, as Barney didn't have a 2nd blocker to stick on menace-Kari and she got through his line.
G3 I kept another 2 lander with Copter and a pilot, but this time it was Barneys turn to get land screwed. He got stuck on 2 land while I was able to draw more. Valor into Sram's Expertise buffing Copter attack put him on the ropes, and he was dead when I had Dragon Fodder to cast the turn after. Sucks that Barney was only able to get 3 lands total out (and the 3rd didn't come until way too late). I don't like winning (or losing) that way, but that's the way the cookie crumbled.
GG Barney! I enjoyed playing you, and hope we can meet again in the tourney.
round 4 vs InFaMoUsGeMiNi - Mardu Vehicles
I take it 2 games to 0.
G1: I was able to get both Aethersphere Harvesters out and attack overhead FTW. Fortunately Gem was playing hyper aggressive and not leaving any blockers back, as my life gain was able to negate the attacks by and large, and not having blockers back allowed me to get to lethal end the end. This match was over pretty quickly due to our respective aggression.
G2: This game was long and hard fought. I had both Chandra's in hand fairly early on, so when we got to T6 and I was able to play the big one, I thought I would take it shortly after - but he was able to deal with both pretty seamlessly, and the game went on and on. Gem drawing 2 Selfless Spirits in one turn really screwed with my attack plans and dragged things out. In the end, I top decked removal for the blocker that would have bought him more time, and pulled off the (IMHO) upset.
GGs Gem! If I had gone with Mardu Vehicles for the tourney, I likely would have gone with a list very similar to yours. I lucked out that you didn't draw any Thalias or Skyships. Best of luck in round 5.
round 5 vs Divinevert - Grixis Slugs
Divinevert takes it 2-0.
G1: I mull down to 5 cards and keep a hand with 2 plains and nothing I can cast for that, rather than going to 4 cards. I top deck like a champ, which allows me to cast a few things while attempting to make a game of it, before I die to Deep-Fiend. This match was funny in that, leading into the game I talk for a moment about how difficult a match up Vert's deck is for me - and his deck does everything I talked about struggling against, with the exception of Mindbender.
G2: This was a really great game; a true nail biter that went right down to the wire. I believe I would have won it, if not for a stupid brain fart holding back Thopter Engineer back on an attack where I was thinking I needed to hold her back to block Haunted Dead, even though I had another creature to do that. I really hated seeing that on the replay... In the end, I got him down to 1 life - which is that one point of damage I missed out on with Engineer... Ultimately I figure it doesn't matter, as I imagine he would have taken game 3. Grixis Slugs is about the worst deck mine could face in the tourney.
GGs to Vert! Very well played on your end - having the answers you needed when you needed them, and being savy enough to work your graveyard to perfection. Best of luck in the top 8. Please keep Mardu Vroom from winning it all.

Spoiler
I felt super safe game 2 and then you slammed chandra. I'm lucky my deck draws nonstop because I was at 3 lands about 16 cards into my deck. Never got a chance to UD the harvester, but it saved my butt the last turn v Chandra

Idk if he checks here very often. Never responded to my attempts to reach him on NGA (IIRC), but he responded pretty quickly to xbone messages. His username is different on xbone, but Kryder lists that handle on the decklists google doc.

Tonight, Monday, 20 Mar 17, at 1900 EST...the battle of the tournament.
In the Blue corner, weighing in at 125 lbs. soaking wet in fleece underwear, with a combined 4-0 record against the field with his mid-range Mardu Vehicles list..."the Scoutmaster"...CGB!
His opponent, in the Red corner piled with sodium chloride, chicken bones, and four-letter words, comes to us today with a combined record of 3 wins, 1 salt-filled draw with his Orzhov tokens deck...the Saltmaster himself, Mobius Chickenstrips!
Come out tonight and watch the show. See if even CGB's Mardu Vehicles can make it undefeated in the tournaments or if Orzhov can knock out Fight Club's only perfect record.
Game one I am too fast. Watching it back it is a good thing, because he had Enthusiast into Gideon into Skysovereign. If I tried to take it slow or if I had been on the draw I would have been in trouble. Game two is awesome, he mulls to 5 but he puts together the perfect strong of cards to demolish me completely. Game three I am on the draw, mobius has a ton of gas in his hand, but I have turn 4 Skysoverign off Caravan and some awesome Selfless back-up for my Gisela. 2-1 for CGB. This matchup is fun, it feels like it could go either way depending on which mythics show up when.
