Time for another poll and more hours of testing, this week is all about artifacts. Dimir decklists, with a little splash (4 cards max) for some of them with the decision left to the deckbuilder. Here's the rules: viewtopic.php?p=542453#p542453
Anyone can join this poll, by building all these decks and testing them. Then you can vote up to 2 decklists, the one with the best record and if you want the one with the second best record or a decklist that you enjoyed particularly.
It will be nice if you can also post the record for any decklist and leave feedbacks for the decks you enjoyed. Only the best decklist will win, but having feedbacks for all the decklists is appreciated and also a reward for people who joined this contest.
Let's see the options:

Arti-stuff

Aggro-facts

Daring Designs

The Daily Grind

The whirl of whirlers whirling

Industrial Revolution

Colossus Smash

The grid

Improvise Control

Arti-fiction

10 decklists submitted this time, since there is not much difference between 9 or 10 i added also mine. To have enough time to test them all properly, the poll will last 10 days, but i can change the deadline in any moment and add more days if i see that people are enjoying it and they need more time to test.
Decklists are again anonymous, here's the list of the deckbuilders (in alphabetic order): callmemaggit, DJ0045, felbatista, Giocher, Haven_pt, InFaMoUsGeMiNi, Magister-Ludorum, Modulo, Sl33pHumper, TheFlakyMage.
Anonymous decklists could be funny for people joining the poll and trying to guess the deckbuilders, but it could be a problem for deckbuilders themselves because they cannot discuss about their decklists easily. I suggest deckbuilders to discuss and comment every decklist or at least most of them, in order to confuse people a bit. They won't be anonymous for long time, but it would be funny for some days.
Only one deckbuilder will win, so let's the fun start and may the RNG Gods be with you!

Edit: i really hope that people actually test them before voting, even if i cannot control this. The fact is that testing gives a more realistic point of view, and maybe a deck that seemed bad could have 5-0 record. Also testing gives you the possibility to leave your feedback, that is a good thing for every deckbuilder that spent time brewing.
10 days is a lot of time, and i could add even more. If you feel you don't have enough time, try at least 1 game each and then cut some of them. But if you want to join this thread without testing, then pls don't vote, leave your pre-testing impressions with a post but give the chance to vote only
to people who wanna test them.

Edit2: deadline updated.

Yay!

And oh my...we are gonna get pretty fed up of Dimir artifacts, lol. For starters, all builds look good on first sight, for example the mana is practically spot on in several builds, better than in the last contest...this time it seems people are going for the price haha

Ey, I think I'm gonna start with The Grid, I always wanted to play a GAG deck (pun intended...)

Edit:

And on second looks, they are pretty different, up to an extent...on a first evaluation:

Arti-stuff: good stuff/combo. BaExp into any 4CC, Yahenni/MM, Herald/servos etc oh and easily crewable vehicles for then too. Looks quite spiked to me.

Aggro-facts:
fast vehicles and TezzTouch with a control/card selection subtheme if it doesn't win as fast as it wants.

Daring Designs:
Comby Underhanded Designs/Hidden Stockpile deck, with a lot of artifac generators and Zoa/Chief as engines (Dude! the N.Hulk!!) also, Marionette subtheme. I want to play this one asap, lol

The Daily Grind:
If I have to label this one, I go for a controlish MechPro/PW hybrid. Late midranger, based in sweeping/securing the field and then snowballing into the win

The whirl of whirlers whirling:
Huge hexproof unblockable fatties FTW haha nice! and SoV is an interesting choice to manage that, like the idea, I can already see the love put on the brew ;) another one I want to play now

Industrial Revolution: Another Underhanded deck, but focusing more in token generators and TzzTouch. Looks grindy, and seems to have enough draw to accomplish the long game plan

Colossus Smash: a Colussus/MechProd that goes for the mid-long game too, first controling the board by stalling&sweeping

The grid: good stuff and then the Grids :V have to try this one right now, as mentioned. Several things going there...just to mention one: trawler/ballista/vials/TezzTouch opens a world of tactic plays

Improvise Control: classic counter&sweep Dimir control, with angry spiky thopters as finishers haha quite original

Artifiction: Colossus agro-control? I think this one wants to have several gameplans to choose accordingly

What I'm missing? Please tell any glaring omission, I hate to play a deck and not notice the goodies

Love it! So much better with deck list titles. I'll hopefully start building tomorrow evening. 10 days isn't much but a day per deck is cool

It depends on how much people is interested in testing the same archetype after 10 days. I can see them bored and close it after 10 days, or still excited to test some remaining decklists and i could add other 2-3 days i think.

K, we'll talk next week. If I end up wanting to really test these, it would be great to have the time

I opened all tabs and did some eliminations.
First I closed all tabs with < 3 fatal push.
Then closed some with fewer interactions.
Closed some with too little pressure on board or questionable vehicle pilot ratios.
Closed Improvise control with too many counters but few bounce or wincon.

Two left - Colossus smash and Aggro-facts.

You have a narrow view of the world.

I noticed the deckbuilders names after I submitted my post. Interestingly I anticipated this above reply LOL

The reason I closed out Industrial Revolution was that it is defensive with no board pressure. Yes it wins games because opponent can't answer an enchantment but if they did, the deck has no other way out.

but don't take it too seriously. I had to pick 2-3 decks based on my own taste in a quick way. My own taste apparently only represents a narrow angle of the global view. I will watch more of your youtube videos as compensation.

There are already 4 votes, maybe i should give only 2 days for this poll :P
Being serious, i like pre-analysis of the decks and there is also the possibility to change the votes whenever you want. But i really hope that people actually test them before voting, even if i cannot control this. The fact is that testing gives a more realistic point of view, and maybe a deck that seemed bad could have 5-0 record. Also testing gives you the possibility to leave your feedback, that is a good thing for every deckbuilder that spent time brewing (beating head against the wall because of my requirements).

Tbf, that's happened both other polls. I think some folks just vote for their own, which is fine. I probably will too unless something really jumps out at me during testing, so I'm going to try the ones least similar to my build first, and then go from there.

I'm not against voting for his own, because if a deckbuilder built that decklist he probably believes it is the best one. It was only a reminder for people to vote after testing and not after 20 min that i posted the poll, for deckbuilders but also for other people. There is no hurry to declare the winner, the fun part now is testing and leaving feedbacks, also shaming deckbuilders is allowed :P

Maybe you could test the first 2 and delete the one with the worst record. Then test the following one and leave the best one between the new one and the old one. At the end you will only have the winner

I admire Black Barney's role as the "garbage man of decklist" on the NGA forums. It's quite a unique title.

Yeee-ah! There you go! We are in Dimir, so Grasp is a totally valid option, and probably better for builds without a lot of Revolt triggers...but less than 3 Push is an automatic out. And already voted accordingly because you had!!

Not sure if trolling or...

Maybe some of that, but I think also peeps early vote for lists that pop out on paper. Mine last time had like 3 or 4 votes within a few hours of posting, but then lost most and gained a few back as time past and peeps were able to actually play the various lists (and saw how clunky mine was if it didn't curve into its combo pieces).

Also voting for your own is weak sauce. If anyone doesn't like their own list they shouldn't submit it. IMHO voting results show you what your peers think of your list, and padding your own in a JFF competition reeks of desperation.

Fwiw I won't vote at all, unless I get a chance to test the decks. I've already won one of these... I don't need to repeat until someone else has 2 ;-). The way things are going, I might not get to vote - I'm pretty busy right now, unfortunately.

So let's say: I mostly agree with you, except under the caveat that I get to test, and truly believe mine is best or second best. (Based on the lists, I'm not sure mine is, so I certainly won't just vote for it out of hand.)

Or maybe I've already voted, and all of the above is a lie... muah hahahahaaaaaaa.

I'm just gonna build, play, and delete them one at a time in the order they are listed.

I was curious about the card diversity for this one so I made a list. I didn't count ALL the cards, just the ones I thought likely to show up in this challenge. Looks like Push and Tez are ubiquitous. Padeem and Whir of Invention are barely represented.

Tezzeret the Schemer: 10/10
Fatal Push: 10/10

Renegade Map: 8/10

Herald of Anguish: 7/10

Aethersphere Harvester: 6/10
Key to the City: 6/10
Walking Ballista: 6/10

Contraband Kingpin: 5/10
Reverse Engineer: 5/10
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship: 5/10
Thopter Spy Network: 5/10

Alchemist's Vial: 4/10
Battle at the Bridge: 4/10
Metallic Rebuke: 4/10
Noxious Gearhulk: 4/10
Smuggler's Copter: 4/10
Tezzeret's Touch: 4/10
Whirler Rogue: 4/10

Marionette Master: 3/10
Mechanized Production: 3/10
Scrap Trawler: 3/10
Syndicate Trafficker: 3/10

Filigree Familiar: 2/10
Heart of Kiran: 2/10
Metalwork Colossus: 2/10
Servo Schematic: 2/10
Torrential Gearhulk: 2/10
Underhanded Designs: 2/10

Bastion Inventor: 1/10
Confirm Suspicions: 1/10
Padeem, Consul of Innovation: 1/10
Tamiyo's Journal: 1/10
Whir of Invention: 1/10

Unlicensed Disintegration: 4/10
Saheeli Rai: 2/10

Edit: I vote we hyphenate the name of the last deck in the list. That way we'd have Aggro-facts vs Arti-fiction.

Voting for your own deck regardless of how good it is compared to the others is pretty sad and silly. But if you actually try them all and find yours to be the most effective, then I don't see any shame in self-voting. I didn't expect to like Vert's deck that much last round, but it ended up being my favorite after playing it. DS's vanilla list performed very well for me (tho he had the bonus of being first on the list and thus tested at the lowest level of the ladder). So those were the 2 that I voted for. I'd have gladly picked mine if I thought it stood out above the others, tho.
