well i already had a deck idea for grix improvise before this theme, but these constraints kind of push the deck building that way. We may have the same decks submited with slight differences.

I can't wait to see 7 versions of the same deck.

That's the original plan as it was for abzan revolt, but we have seen different decklists. That is, build the most optimized deck or be original and hope that your idea is better than the obvious one.

i can't wait to see Timh build basically the same deck as everyone else except his can't seem to win a single game for some strange reason.

But I won't be torturing you with having to play a list from me this time. I'm sitting this challenge out. Move kicks into high gear for me starting this weekend, so I won't have time for it.

I built some decks and Tezzeret the Schemer is such crap, that I prefer playing other 4 cmc cards because he doesn't bring anything to the table.

Indeed he's crap for a 4 CC PW...I left him out at first, but I'm recosindering it, given how amazingly well he combs with the core idea of my build

A little consideration: i feel like the splash is confusing more than helping. This round is the same as abzan revolt, but it is dimir artifacts. I allowed the splash because i thought it could help having a couple of cards in another color. But you should consider as dimir when you brew something, not as 3-color idea.

I understand that if you think about dimir artifacts you will probably think about similar decklists, but also if i say abzan revolt, although the decklists were different. I thought about his theme because when i tried to build mine there were lot of different ways, so it would be a good idea for a contest to see which performs better. I thought about improvise control, improvise aggro, colossus deck, eggs, but there will be other ideas from better deckbuilders or with more fantasy.

Anyway i'm trying to alternate rounds with and without color constraints, because it would be more interesting. I feel that people don't like to be tied to colors, or maybe they think decklists will be identical. But i think that in this kind of contest the good deckbuilder will show up, because few cards makes lot of difference and also he can find the hidden idea behind the obvious one.

In few words, stay with the dimir concept, and don't see the requirements as a disadvantage but as a help (that there wasn't with revolt even if we already had 3 colors there). If you don't like this round idea and requirements don't join it, but at least evaluate all the options before doing it, consider it a challenge. Otherwise there will be other rounds and themes (with freedom) that could be easier.

The lure to clone yondar's showdown is really great, because imo that deck is awesome.

I have built an original deck within the constraints, but its goofy compared to that deck. I've been testing vs AI and it works, but on the ladder... Don't think it'll have much of a chance. I'll submit it anyway, because the idea is original enough, but I'm a little lost as to how to make it better atm.

That's close to where I'm at. Been tossing ideas at the AI to see what doesn't absolutely suck, trying to come up with a gimmicky idea that will at least be unusual enough to be enjoyable for the playtesting part of the contest, but I'm a bit pessimistic about coming up with anything that will do good enough on the ladder.

I've got 2 candidates now that at least look fun and like they might be playable.

If only this had been Rakdos instead... I'da had a ladder worthy homebrew already cooked up, tested, and ready to go. But I guess this is the fun part, tho.

Can we talk about how good my Dynavault Flicker is tho? It's tournament-capable (because no one would play burn)

I only went 2-1 with it. When the towers get taken out, i have lots of trouble. Thopter Arrest and Suppression Bonds were alive and well on the ladder

You still have Nissa, Jace, the turret, and the Whale to win. And you lost once you baby, probably due to play error.

Super late to the party, but the Fog Tower deck was the one that stood out to me as the most clever design. Congrats on the win!

When is the deadline to round 3? I couldn't find it. I have a list already that is having much more success online than what I expected, but I want to make sure I have the deck as streamlined as possible.
