I said basically the same thing the other night in a party with Gem and.. Unbeatable or Holy.. don't remember which one it was. They basically laughed me out of the party insinuating that Mardu vehicles is indomitable, and that they're so uber skilled MLG Duels pros. Gem asked what deck I would be playing and my response was something like, "Whatever counter decks vehicles. The plan would be to crush the vehicle matchups, and have solid game vs everything else, make top eight.. which will be flooded with vehicles, and crush them again."

I would've thought/brought Naya mid-range.. Rec Sages, red instants, Blessed Alliance.. solid creatures/walkers to back it all up. Other than Aethersphere Harvester and Heart of Kiran, the entire deck dies to three damage burn spells. Having Blossoming Defense to snuff out their UDs would be game too.

The problem I had was trying to think of deck that could handle vehicles but wouldn't make me want to pull out my hair when I play against control by Vert or whoever.

The thing is.. you can lose those matchups vs control.. because control is going to be the minority.. and WON'T be there in the top 8 while Vehicles will.. because all the vehicle tryhards will ensure that control gets a proper face smashing and goes 2-3.

You're right. I think when I plan on how I should handle control, it's not because I think it'll keep me from top eight, it's more to protect my mental health.

Surprised to see so few rec sages. Even thought there might be a bit more fragmentizes, but that appears to be a natural result of control decks excluding white by and large.

Not surprisingly, Unlicensed Disintegration and Harnessed Lightning were the spot removals of choice by a mile, with P&K earning the top creature w/ removal ability spot. Radiant Flames takes the top sweeper spot, tied w/ Chandra, Flamecaller in total copies (Flamecaller represented in 2x the decks)

Meh, I think the people trying to answer vehicles should be running fatal push AND rec sage.

No Golgari decks at all, only one Abzan. Looks like most people went the Harnessed Lightning/Unlicensed Disintegration route for answering vehicles.
