How would you guys feel about them adding oblivion ring to the starter box? There has been plenty of complaining over the last few months about vehicles and PWs-- some of which are valid, but not all. O-ring would not only help with both, but it would give the starter box kids more of a fighting chance. So, do you think O-ring would be an appropriate inclusion, or do you think it would become too universal and maybe give too much of an edge to controlling decks? It would essentially make cards like thopter arrest obsolete, but redundancy is nothing new to duels.

Meh; Oblivion Ring will just get blown up by Enchantment/Artifact hate that's popular right now; especially if they're going against people with all the cards available to them.

I think it would be a welcome addition for the starter box. The new players need a catch-all like this for all the tryhards. It would really give those White Weenies/Boros Auras decks they always play, a fighting chance vs substantially better decks.

At least give the baby seals a pistol..

yeah, and the extra enchantment synergy that would come along with it wouldnt be insubstantial.

I'd be for this. It wouldn't be all that busted in Duels.

If we got O-Ring I would be compelled to try and recreate the time that LSV crashed Modo by causing an infinite O-Ring loop.

Oblivion Ring would be a terrible addition for Duels. Banishing Light, on the other hand, is a much better fit

what wording is that? looks fine to me. everyone of the words on the card is used on other cards(other than the obvious name of the card). enchantment, exile, permanent, non land, etc, are all still used. what am I missing?

only word I remotely see it could be, is the word "another" and that doesn't really make sense to me that it would be that, but meh.

One can target any permanent, one can target your opponent's permanents only.

Oblivion Ring could be bounced/removed before the card is exiled, which caused the target permanent to be exiled permanently.

Doesn't happen with Banishing Light's wording.

Bingo. All current versions of the effect use Light's wording exactly to prevent this interaction. It might sound like an extreme corner case for O-Ring, but it was incredibly easy to do with, for example, Fiend Hunter.

If we had Fiend Hunter, I'd probably run a flicker deck.
