Thanks Kryder for organizing this and thanks to the opponents for the good games. I've been learning from these games a lot and hopefully we'll have some more fun in the upcoming Aether Revolt season.

My game vs Giocher is done

Spoiler

Thanks Kryder for hosting this afterparty, I'll see everybody in the next Showdown.

Btw, I didn't really enjoy the sideboard thing all that much. I maintain my opinion that the showdown should be non-sideboard, its a lot closer to ladder play.

Vids:
(Game 1)
(Games 2 & 3)

Huh? That makes no sense.

Out of 5 games I lost, 2 of them I missed land drops from T3, 1 of them from T4. The games Giocher lost to me in dispel counter war were about open mana as well. Land drops are more important in a slower format.

I know what that feels like...

to be fair I was expecting someone to bring aggro, but everyone just brought their pet decks.
this just proves how uninteresting are the current dominating aggro decks

Fuss played aggro. And my pet decks are aggro...
Vehicle decks are uninteresting, but decks like socur's are actually pretty cool.
I just chose a deck that was doing well on the ladder, especially against control and is usually fun to play. You don't face a lot of walker spam on the ladder though, so I missed that weakness, but I didn't do too bad considering I did zero playtesting with the sideboard.
Congratulations Joly, I had a feeling you would win this...

Thank you. Is it over, or is there a round 5?

Alright Afterpartiers! The 4th and final round is upon us (I know I said 5 rounds, but with 8 players, it shouldn't go to 5)! This will give everyone time to get their creativity going for Aether Revolt.

Participants of the Afterparty, stay tuned for a quick survey I'll be sending your way shortly asking for your opinions for the next tournament series, probably just after the tournament ends.

Have fun guys! WW, take out Joly, if you can!

I can give you round 5 Joly, so we can complete our flawless/flawful afterparty.

Congrats Joly! How important were your sideboarding decisions towards your victory ?

Not sure, but at least there wasn't the frustration of having to play games 2 and 3 with 7 or 8 dead cards in the deck and just hoping I didn't draw too many of them. I think I boarded out the spot removal every game and brought the 4 read the bones every round

Yes, but I ran very well most of the game 1, drawing very little removal and having a walker on turn 3-4 almost every game
