Hmmm... just throwing these out, so take them with a grain of salt, but presuming we get the second rate city of brass (Spire of Industry)... I could it see it used in semi aggressive 3 color decks. Even without, it's a possible inclusion in Boros Humans (Consul's Lieutenant makes double red hard), or Rakdos Vampires assuming we get the new 2 drop: Gifted Aetherborn, which has a similar issue. Plus it would still be around as we get new sets to justify it more.

You're right though, UR wouldn't want it. It's going to be better in decks that aren't mostly red.

It's just a very efficient burn spell, dealing 5 damage for 3, so I'm guessing it fits somewhere, at some point in the future.

Speaking of semi aggressive 3 color decks, what about some Jeskai mostly Humans? :D (infinite combo with Saheeli included).

It should work...Revolt doesn't care where things go, just that it left.

Yeah, but both happen at beginning of eot, so I'm not sure how that works in Duels, or even real mtg.

Also, speaking of Jank Combo land. Valor in Akros season is finally upon us, with almost every single color getting a new creature that can create a token on attack for energy. Beast? Ready?

I like the new 5 mana enchantment better than Valor. It's a permanent buff that still affects your topdecks. I think it's a strict upgrade to Valor.

That deck would also run Hanweir Garrison and Kari Zev, Skyship Raider so it could be a pretty brutal turn. I'd also argue for the inclusion of Blue for added shenanigans.

Hmmmm... we shall see. 5 mana is a lot, and Valor really can do something now, consistently, on t4.

With what creature besides Hanweir Garrison, or Whirler Virtuoso? There's not a lot of creatures that can poop tokens on demand without paying mana for it. I don't see it consistently doing chit on turn 4.

There's one in each color that can pay 2 energy on attack to poop a servo. I think they are all commons too. I'm not excited or anything, but we should definitely be getting the tools for valor this time.

Jank achieved! I was about to say the example was only your turn 4/5 plays, let alone if you had a turn 2 Kari and turn 3 Garrison

@Beast if we get it, the cycle of commons that poop 1/1's on attack for the 2 energy they generate. Red one is a 2/1 for 2 I think?

Yeah, I think the deck is Jeskai, but it's got plenty of 2-3 drops that all fit the theme well. And then just throw in some energy generation and you should be good to go.

(Could easily just be Boros, but I think U helps enough to justify it)

This feels very reminiscent of Jeskai Ascendancy, about the only tokens deck you'll get me excited to play :D

Possibly add in Aethergeode Miner as a speculative 2 drop for white, which earns energy on attack, and can blink itself at instant speed.

Meh, I think it's a deck that is worth trying, so maybe this is our one and only new archetype (at least thus far).

I should mention that the magical Christmas land opening with Kari, Hanweir, Valor, deals lethal on t4 - I believe. So this is a pretty fast goldfish.

Nah, the 1st one gets +5, the 2nd +4, the 3rd +3 etc.

I think that's not right... I think all three Tokens (at least) get the full boost. But tbh, I'd have thought the whole spell would resolve before valor triggers, in which case all the things get the boost. That space in the card makes me unsure... judges?!?

I'm nearly certain the tokens don't trigger one at a time.

Valor can already kill on t4:

T1: Kytheon.
T2: Dragon Fodder. 2 Damage
T3: Hanweir. 4 Damage. Flip Kytheon
T4: Valor. 22 Damage

The tokens trigger simultaneously, but I was wrong in that one of them would be a 2/2 (the Thopter) since that spell resolves after Expertise AND the token drops after every other body, so it only gets it's own trigger.

Yeah, but the new cards bring a lot of new ways for that to happen. I think there may be many paths to a t4 kill if we just get the cycle and Kari. The deck should have 6 valid 1 drops, 16 2 drops to choose from (possibly more), 10 3 drops, and valor for the kill.

Off the top of my head, of course (assuming 3 colors).

The problem before the expansion was that the deck had basically nothing at the 2 slot, but with the cycle it adds 6 (possibly 8) 2 drops if Boros, or 10 (12) if Jeskai. That's a lot of new tools, more than enough for consistency and testing.

You'd have enough options to generally mulligan for Valor itself.
