Where are the crap cards in this expansion? With the exception of a few yawn inducing commons, this set has hardly any really bad totally unplayable cards.
The goodstuff/crap ratio is really off the charts. Kind of gives you little reason to play cards from older sets, due to synergy or pure power level...
Just out of curiosity, try building a deck and count how many non-kaladesh/aether revolt cards you play (and those you do play are probably the top tier goodstuff ones).

How many non-PWs good-stuff is in BFZ? Origins? Are we just hitting the good-stuff critical mass now?

Locket is really good, imho...I'm surprised nobody commented on it...Scry AND draw, every turn from t4 onwards in the right build, for 1 mana? Nobody besides me gets all moist?

Mana abilities don't use the stack maybe this does? Is Improvise a triggered ability? Probably not because it doesn't say "When/whenever/at".

What's the Convoke reminder text?

EDIT - From the mechanics article: "Tapping your artifacts for improvise happens after you activate mana abilities. If you tap an artifact for mana, it will already be tapped when it comes time to improvise, so you can't do both."

Well, I guess this is as close to a Mana Leak as we'll ever get again. Will be in Duels, sure; might get played in Artifacts, yes; is not the card counterspell-based control needs.

This looks really solid, slots right into Izzet Thopters. Good tempo if played for 3 or less mana. Not the most exciting gold rare, but it was almost impossible to beat out the madness we've gotten so far; and unlike a certain Boar this will see Constructed play at least for Duels.

It's not very good. It's only relevant on T2 if you are playing a turn 1 artifact and they 1cmc artifact cycle kinda sucks. It has a place in UB Artifacts, but nowhere else really.
