Yahenni is confirmed Aetherborn Vampire.

I'm quite curious to see if dear R/B vamps will get new useful tools.

First I didn't read all the post in this thread but I wanted to ask you BBB why have you resigned from the steam showdown tourney if I may ask... sure ppl have real life but as soon as new release arrives suddenly all the time becomes available to write all this... huh

Yaheeni will likely involve the energy mechanic in someway, my bet is u/b with a life drain/lifelink that turns enemy hp into friendly energy

also when they said he's an aetherborn vampire that's the card name, specifically Yaheeni, Aetherborn Vampire. he's a "vampire" because he converts the lifeforce of normal living creatures into aether to extend his own life. Since aetherborn don't occupy the normal definition of life they also can't occupy the normal definition of undeath

Not a he or a she, though they're more feminine than masculine. There's speculation Yaheeni will kill Tezzeret and take his spark and become the first Aetherborn planeswalker similar to how Karn works.

Ajani is amazing.

+2 for 3 deep card advantage; putting land you don't need onto the bottom.

-2 for exiling, not destroy, target creature. The Lifegain is balanced.

-9 for a team buff across the board AND he can possibly make other Planeswalkers ultimates go off in the same turn???

Have to admit I was hoping for something a bit more exciting, Card draw/Removal has been done so many times now it's getting pretty stale - He's good, just really boring...

Yeah i feel the same. He is nothing really exciting for 6 mana in 2 colors, nothing to do with my reaction when Nissa, Vital Force was spoiled.

I heard Ajani is the friendliest of all Superfriends? He's great in there.
Dunno if he's good outside of that deck and dunno how good exactly his +2 is (since you bottom instants and sorceries as well).

Was kinda hoping for a Walker that does Selesniya things more than Superfriends things, but he's dec.


EDIT: I'm dumb. Ajani is also good in Bant Control as well as Selesiya-based Ramp. Not a card for aggressive Selesniya strategies, but whatevs.

He'll be great in Selesnya tokens.

Ajani, the Unshakable is average. He will most likely just end up in EldraziRamp decks like Selesnya OR Naya. He could of course go into Abzan Midrange seeing that BG Delirium is making strides in the lobbies.

+2 Basically pick 1 out of the top 3 cards and put it in your hand. Good for finding pieces and filtering through ramp spells.

-2 Swords to Plowshares. Good!

-9 Not relevant...unless in a Planewalker deck OR Selesnya Tokens.

For all you folks saying he's boring.. what would you rather he do? He can protect himself.. better than all the others bc exile for 2. Do you want his + ability to make tokens? Scry? Tap? Lower/raise power? Make something hexproof/indestructible? What do you suggest that makes sense for Selesnya colors?
