So, I probably know the answer to this...but we can't use Bestow as our chosen aura right?

Oh...I just read the "same mana cost" part...so much for my beloved Stuffy Doll + Guilty Conscience

Edit: However, just to clarify one more thing...if my permanent has Shroud, based on the wording of the rules, it will still get the aura right?

Bestow cards are not implicitly auras.

Shroud is ok, I am pretty sure.

I am curious whether token copies (or even non token copies) of the named card get the aura, too. The rule is worded 'that card' which implies no, but just wanted to make sure that was deliberate and not meant to say that creature.

1) The Aura must be something that would be considered an "Aura card" in your hand, so no bestow creatures or DFC's that are only Auras on the back side (i.e. Ghastly Haunting.)

2) The Aura will still appear on a permanent with shroud.

3) Token copies will not get the Aura. It's tied to the "physical" card itself.

Yeh, this is another one of those alt rounds where a T1 win is attainable in a variety of ways, but because decks have to slow down and not win on t1, disruption dominates instead.

I've been looking at it, its actually an interesting meta since there are so many different ways for that t2 win, many of which will still 3-3 most disruption.

Bah, I swore I read that it was same converted mana cost when Edacade asked and not same mana cost. Last minute submission for me then :P

And I spent days looking for a turn one kill because of THAT? Anyway, I found something better than I first submitted, so no worries.

There are definitely turn-one kills even with the proper reading of the mana cost rule.

Just wanna be clear here: is the token-aura a permanent you control? Contributes to devotion, you can activate its abilities, you could sacrifice it as a cost...?

Umm... Gaea's Embrace doesn't have the same mana cost as Nylea, God of the Hunt. Though I'd rather see it substituted for Equestrian Skill or something rather than disqualified and making an already shallow pool even shallower.

Darn, I missed that. I agree that a substitution would be best here, and Equestrian Skill is definitely the most similar Aura that costs . I'll make the proper edits now.

Huh...I expected Dark Salvation to be the infinite mana engine...

I totally missed the ability to use both green Leylines because I was originally working around Leyline of Singularity and Elemental Resonance, which is illegal. Too bad I was moving out of my house this week and wasted all my available time making illegal decks. I think future iterations of this round should simplify the aura to converted mana cost...the brokenness level doesn't really increase (maybe...stuff like Bottle Gnomes can make it virtually impossible to lose unless they play a wincon card and control) and would allow for more fun stuff. Or maybe it can be controlled with same color and converted mana cost a little. The Gaea's Embrace/Equestrian Skill thing seems a bit silly and it was annoying to find my Spiketail Drake/Fool's Demise combo fell off simply because of a mana symbol.

Morgue Toad (Unhallowed Pact) into Dragon Roost would have been my infinite mana engine and sink. Looks like it would have done fairly well. In fact it looks like I would have 6-0'd the field.

I spent a long time trying to find a deck that didn't use Elemental Resonance or one of the infinite combos, but I ended up with a bunch of ideas that didn't quite get there. I settled on using an infinite combo for something interesting, like controlling opponent's turns. Unfortunately, none of you guys played decks that actually care much if I control you for a turn.
