This one would be especially messy. Former employee, deleted forums and accounts, everything chips away at whether the team now would have known that he said it, not to mention whether story fans who have joined in the time since even have the ability to know he said it.
Agreed, but I think Barinellos is right. I'm pretty sure it was something that was posted in the old Brady thread in the old forums. I don't remember if enough of it was saved here or elsewhere to be of any use though.

I found it! It's from the Ask Brady thread in the M:EM archive.

Q: Is it possible on any of the planes to create an airship like Skyship Weatherlight or Predator, Flagship? Does artificial plane shifting technology still exist?

A: Airships are possible, sure, depending on the level of "magetech" on a given plane. Older technologies that enabled non-Planeswalkers to move across the planes were outmoded by the Mending; whether or not replacement technologies can be found hasn't been established yet.

It doesn't say anything about natural connections between planes, though. And I think killing interplanar tech like that sucks.

I believe I read about planes touching each other in various ways in the Urza Arc Books specifically "Planeswalker" and also in a magic book-can't remember which one though I do know it was in one of them-and a Creative Panel that explained that Dominaria along with other planes would bump into each other and form a connection of some sort along with the other effects I listed in my first post. They said it was a mana connection but they or the books didn't clarify more than that.

P.S. It may be that interplanar tech and natural planar touching is still possible though in a completely different way. Which makes sense since the Multiverse basically rewrote itself in order to not collapse and reset. On another note entirely, Planeswalkers gaining the power to build planes is possible. Nicoh Bolas proved that on Alara. However he lacks the eldritch insight needed to build any kind of plane something that could be gained but not after some experimentation.

... How did the conflux prove they could still build planes?

Well, yes, planes touching each other was definitely a thing before the Mending. But given the changes made to the nature of the multiverse since then, there's no guarantee it still is. We have no up to date evidence for how planes interact these days one way or the other. I like to think it's still the same, but that piece of info from Brady suggests that the Mending had a greater impact on the nature of the multiverse than I thought, so who knows. I guess Creative won't really bother with the details and just reintroduce interplanar travel as they see fit at some point.

I did not say that. Nicoh Bolas proved that planeswalkers can gain the same amount of power that old planeswalkers possess. However, all planeswalkers lost that eldritch insight needed to take that power and build a plane with it. If the Eldritch Moon arc is anything to go by the only beings capable of creating planes at the moment are Eldrazi Titans of which their is only one in this small part of the multiverse.

You say it clearly here that it's possible for them to gain the powers to build planes.
Except there's no evidence for that.

Bolas amassed a massive amount of power, but there's another order of magnitude that still separates him from what he was before.

But none of that matters, since you said he doesn't have the power yet. Though, if he did have the power the reasons why he wanted the Eldrazi free would be a bit clearer.

I'm aware you qualified that they didn't have the knowledge necessary, but I disputed the fact they'd even have the power. It's a worthwhile distinction in and of itself.

As to the Eldrazi, at this point I'm not sure I'd even want an answer from creative. The entire thing was so haphazardly handled, any explanation larger than a big world munching distraction would seem... unsatisfactory.

We got hints from Liliana's ghosts and raven guy that Eldrazi are world creators. Was that unsatisfactory?

Hints are different from confirmations. Although I personally want everythjng explained, given their current track record I think an explanation might be really dissapointing. So if they just hint a bunch of things I think they'll keep more people happy.

As a function for the Eldrazi, it's okay.
It does nothing to fit within a plot Bolas would normally make. If anything, it fits Ugin more.

This is all very boring to read.

Let's discuss in details how planes touch each other !
Is it inappropriate for an old plane, like Dominaria, to touch young and innocent ones, like Kaladesh ?
