Okay, I really don't want to close a round with just six decks. Maybe if I leave it open another day, we'll get some more submissions? I'll try to bug people.

Ouch at no further submitters.

Ouch at 5 of 6 decks getting under 3 points per match. By my math we're looking at 12-12-24-12-14-14.

But I get extra points for flavor. That puts me up to 15, right? :V

Dangit, I forgot to check my deck both ways for Storm Scale...

-mumble grumble-

Edit: Okay, yeah, it loses the other way too.

I expect to get all 0s for Storm Scale. This is the worst idea ever.

This round is awful.

I was thinking I was going to skip vanilla and try the alt rounds, but then I've realized that there is literally nothing I want to play this round. The best I could think of is Thrull Parasite.

Before I make my vote, I need to know a couple of specifics on "Auras!"

Ok. I have friends who constantly say "same mana cost" when they mean "same converted mana cost" so I just wanted to make sure.

Sometimes I think they do it just to annoy me.

Yes.

Maybe tied for 21-turn Backbuild.

The fun of 3cm, or what fun there is, is trying out something new and exciting in the alt rounds.

There's nothing exciting about trying to figure out the best way to lose to turn 2 Storm Crow.

I thought it would be similar to the "Patience" round we had earlier but with an interesting twist. Turns out that twist was fairly annoying to work around :P

One day left to submit Storm Scale decks! If you already submitted a deck, make sure to check your PM's. I did get a couple illegal and/or questionable decks this week.

Vanilla Redux Results
Rank|Name|Total Score|Round 1|Round 2|Round 3|Round 4
1|Golgari_Spy|7.80|3.00|4.80
2|thatmarkguy|7.47|4.67|2.80
3|POSValkir|6.40|4.00|2.40
4|Zlehtnoba|5.80|3.00|2.80
5|CommanderJim|5.57|3.17|2.40
6|Edacade|3.40|1.00|2.40
7|Cgalcic|2.00|2.00|0.00

Consolation Prize: CommanderJim (after random tiebreaker with Edacade and POSValkir) (Bitterblossom, Mishra's Factory, or Mox Jet)
Pick one nonbasic card to ban from a deck that placed 1st this round. Your deadline is the end of Round 4 submissions.

Winner: Golgari_Spy
You may suggest a new alternate format to be added to next season's poll.

does this logic extend to backbuild, because that's a format dedicated to trying to lose

Backbuild was a bit different since your weren't trying to lose, but trying to win slowly. Here you are trying to lose to an extremely weak deck while finding a way to remain competitive against other decks designed to lose...it's maddening.

trying to win slowly in backbuild never works, it's better to make something that would win but is stopped by an easy-to-meet condition (such as the opponent being able to produce unrestricted mana, or the opponent controlling a land)

the issue i can see is that the current format is likely not really that deep compared to a backbuild round, which is a shame because capturing the spirit of backbuild without being a draw festival is an interesting concept
