Sure it makes sense in the music thread but seeing that metal is talked about by so many people on the forum I think there can probably be it's own thread about it. What's so bad about that?

Because the only discussion of music that occurs is about metal because it dominates the thread. There is more demand to talk about metal so it could warrant it's own thread. That's all.

What's wrong with it dominating the thread? There is still opportunity to discuss other genres. I do it often here myself. Its not being destructive to the thread or anything.

Got something interesting for you all.
I was a child of the late 70' and 80's with religious parents and I was and am a musician
who gobbled up music.
I was only allowed to listen to "secular" music every other day, so I found some bands that would be defined as very obscure by the mainstream.
I'll let you judge.
