Timh! I talked about how you might like his build in my stream. I had foreseen it :)

Also in Gems defense he has a sig line to protect.

Sweaty try hards might delete their videos so you don't see the lines of play he was beaten with or any other information. If you get paired against him next round you have less information. That makes sense, right? Its competitive, not wrong.
Speaking from experience on the sweaty try-hard mentality? Cos' you're without a doubt the worst example of a sweaty try-hard I've had the displeasure of being paired against. To the extent that two changes to the tournament rules were put into effect just because of your lame stunts.

Are you really trying to distance yourself from the "sweaty try-hard" by referring to it in the third person as per your comment? It'd be more palatable if you'd simply embrace it because you're the very embodiment of a sweaty try-hard.

God bless Kryder and his infinite patience, you couldn't pay me enough to run one of these...

I don't know how Kryder does it either. Mucho respect for him, he seems to have infinite patience and yet remains professional (and he totally doesn't have to cuz...you know... Magic players)

Donachaid is right on everything and this is a guy who's won one of the events (that ramp deck is STILL a ton of fun to play). Good for you, Donachaid.

Rules-judging type junk is one of the reasons (besides the smell) I ditched paper Magic.

Magic players are the worst thing about Magic.

absolutely. It's the only reason not to play with strangers. There's a chance that they could be a Magic player. Drafting with friends is where it's at. Or playing Duels with people here. Even when you run up against the Pure's and Peepy's, it's not nearly as bad as it would be irl. I feels for Donachaid but the environment and community online is far more good than bad. IRL not so much.

Eh, it's a case by case basis. Friends and I play irl at LGS, a lot with Jank and T2 or 3 brews. Most of the time, the people we play against are fairly cool. You get the occasional tryhard, who can't swallow being beaten by 8Rack, or Lantern Control, but for the most part we play with fun people.

The player base definitely has gotten better for me in recent years. (-=

You know what, whatever. That was 5 months ago, we played another match without issue, and in both matches my comment history on here shows no kind of vitrol towards you. Have a nice day.

I'm all for redemption and leopards changing their spots. Thank god you edited out your spiteful response. I can see that in 5 months you've turned around and you're a new man, good on you Pure.

Thanks Barney, such a good feeling to know the Richard Simmons dude firmly has my back.

You're right also that 9/10 players on Duels seem like good people that just want a good game. With enough deo sprays to hand out, maybe even a physical gathering might work out.

Appreciate that simic ramp deck was a blast to play, have to give credit to Flayer who came up with the original decklist I tinkered with.

Btw that guy always seems to come up with a bunch of fun decks. Here's his youtube channel

just finished watching my match on Twitch. Thanks for the awesome comments Kryder, Vert, WeCoexist, NightHawk, Unbeatable and stuff. Really fun to see all of that going on in the background. I'll have chat open in my future matches and it'll be good fun.

Wow, emotional shambles is right for the end of game 3. I couldn't believe how many mistakes I made in that game. Why did I use a fiery temper on a 1/1 that was blocking my neonate. Nighthawk is right, i desperately needed land so I should have dug by sac'ing neonate. MAN. And I totally didn't see that Shambling Vent at the end of game 3. Yikes.

I also had an optimal line of play with Olivia that I didn't see, but would have been more of a disaster (cuz i didn't know the dude was holding up Avacyn). I think I could have played a hasted Bloodmad and used an Alms but I'm not sure. It wouldn't have worked cuz of Avacyn but I think that was my optimal line.

anyway fun deck. Let's see if I can get past these mana issues next game. Thanks again to the viewers, it was good fun.

Completely honest, the after-match rewatch is probably my favorite part of these tourneys.

Witty,
What time is good for you Sunday. I work on Sunday but I don't want to miss this window of opportunity when you actually get on.

P.S. I also go to church with unbeatable so that takes up some time too..

witty,

I will be on for awhile tonight. After that I will only be on for a few hours each night. Let's come up with a better time and date than Sunday. I don't like waiting until the last minute.

Can't. I have a very active social life, and a full time job. Sunday is the first time I have free to play.

I've tried to reach out to my opponent. Both, publicly and privately. If they don't respond, that's not on me. I'm available. They're not.
