Vanilla Redux Spreadsheet!

Edacade, you shorted yourself vs me. You win on the play by Despising out my Leonin Squire. Kaya never lands (nor does any creature that could block your Tiger).

Since it looks like Conspiracy will win the poll, I want to give some notes.

Power Play will be banned because it makes discard decks a bit too consistent.
Worldknit does not work in 3CM because you don't have a card pool.
Sovereign's Realm doesn't do much in 3CM because the 3CM rules say you can't get cards from outside the game. (If you want to use it just to exile cards from your hand, go ahead.)

Hmm, just playing the classic Council's Judgment would have got me 5 more points, but I think my version was more fun in the end.

@thatmarkguy: I hate to say this, but I think you beat me. You can -2 T1 to make me discard one Mayor. Then you attack T2 forward, and my Mayor dies if I block. You use Kaya to exile Mayor every turn until we each have 2 life, and then you win no matter what I do.

Man, I performed identically to Spy's Elspeth deck, except against Vraska. Oh well. I'll still be much higher in the leaderboard this season than usual.

Curses! I though you and I tied Jim...until I realized Kaya's 0 ability costs 2 life.

Even if it didn't, you'd be giving me a free Arc Lightning every turn.

Yeah, I didn't spend a lot of time on figuring out every path. I was more interested in getting some sleep. My initial reaction was "Kaya is a threat, must force her to be discarded" so...Yay, I have 13 points instead. I feel so lucky.

No, I meant when I went through all the decks and their matches, you going 3-3 vs. Mark instead of 6-0 put you at 25 pts and tied with me. But yeah, I also forgot Titan would nuke every time it reentered...so I was doubly wrong.

Um yes. I would like to ban City of Traitors and Black Lotus as my 1st and 2nd round consolation prizes.

The 2nd round is officially over. The grading of the 2nd round is not but has proceeded to a point where the result is obvious. I will not be back for a while so sue me.

Can either of those be banned under the new ban rules? Aren't we stuck with them for at least two seasons?

Nah, it only works the other way around. You can't unban something that was just banned. That rule was a direct response to Channex getting repeatedly banned and then unbanned.

Letting people ban things that were just unbanned can be a good thing. It lets us unban crazy powerful cards without committing to having them for two seasons in a row.

In addition to the three cards in your deck, choose a Conspiracy.
Extra bans: Power Play, Unexpected Potential
Note: Worldknit and Sovereign's Realm don't do much, since you have no card pool, and you can't get cards from outside the game.

Banning Explanation
Last time we played this format, Unexpected Potential was used by half of the decks, mostly to allow turn-0 disruption with Simian Spirit Guide or aggressive turn-1 disruption with Meddling Mage. Despite Take the Throne introducing new conspiracies, the old Unexpected Potential decks still seem very powerful, and I'm hoping that banning the card will lead to a more diverse meta. Power Play was banned because it circumvents the fundamental weakness of turn-1 discard decks, and encourages players to play around it by using Power Play themselves.

I think there's some extra stuff in that post.

We just played two rounds where Leyline of Anticipation + Black Lotus + Liliana's Specter/Brain Maggot was legal and we were fine. This round is going to have less banned cards and more powerful opposing decks (everyone gets a free 6 cmc enchantment?).

I'm protesting this one a little.
