What's wrong with Wall of Fire? It's not horrible, especially in this format.

Rathi berserker is an inblockable 2/4 most of the time, and needs to be blocked by 7 power to be killed. Does anyone really think a 7/x is going to show up in a draft of any card ever? Wall of fire is pretty great too.

Rampage triggers for each blocker after the first. Effectively it's a 5-mana 2/4 that is a pain in the ass to cast.

Double red is what's wrong.

But then, what else is there to pick? I wouldn't play it if we continue with the WGr or even WGR plan, but if one color dries out and we end up GRw or WRg, it will make the deck, so it seems like an ok pick in such a bad pack.

+1 wall of fire.

I don't like the RR any more than you do, but I'm not convinced we're not GRw instead of GWr anymore.

Yeah, being three colours means we will have very little reliability in red. That puts a CCC of any colour pretty much out of our reliable-casting reach. Wall of Fire is CC, which is already tough unless red becomes a main colour and not splash, but requires monumentally more red-specific mana to be of much use. That pretty much puts this down to the Treefolk, or absurdly, the Terrain Generator. I can only see the Terrain Generator being useful in 1 out of a 100 games (as it could, at best, accelerate us from 3 lands to 5, and then we actually do something worthwhile at 5), but the 1/3 Treefolk has an ability that might prove useful in such a random card environment as this.

Wall of fire I guess. Could be useful if pack two takes us deeper in red. If terrain generator fetched from library I might consider it.

So far our red seems far stronger than our white so whatever.

Regardless, berserker is a terrible, terrible card. 2/4 for 5 (including 3 red mana) with an ability that is irrelevant unless you double block? How often do you double block a 2/4?

Folks - you are either picking a card that is unlikely to make it into the final picks, or you take a card with a weird ability (The Treefolk) that could be a big bonus in a random environment like this! Both are unlikely to make it, but one could offer us a big bonus on the rare chance the right card comes up, whereas the others are fundamentally bad.

I already picked wall after learning rampage sucks. Nobody has said anything else about berserker.

I'd actually prefer the Tilling Treefolk as well. Wall of Fire is kinda meh, especially since we're only looking at a red splash atm.
