Ifyou think you can beat all of NGA (ios), become the King of the Hill. Hold your title and become this season's Overlord!

Just wanted to start a different sort of competitive magic on here. The concept is simple. Sign up to battle the current champ. Duel. Winner stays. Casual setup, Competitive games.

Play best of 3 games using one deck per match. Both players stream or youtube it, if you can. No sideboards. As soon as a match is over, another may begin immediately or later. King can switch decks from match to match. After 3 days without playing, power will revert back to the previous king if no one attempts to schedule a new match. In such an event, the king will go in the box as challenger when they are ready (#1 on list).

Sign up on here to secure your spot as a challenger (in a post below).Challenge the current king in the order of sign up. Current challenger has 24 hours to contact king for match time or may be skipped (temporarily). If you lose a match, you only need to wait for one more match to happen before challenging again. Challenge with any deck you want. If you are skipped, just post to reclaim your spot when ready.

OP will be updated with king status, stats, etc... as often as possible. However, you can check the sign up order and keep playing matches as often as you can. Make sure to post match results on here and links to twitch or youtube videos (if applicable).

One week before the new set comes out, the top 3 kings based on total wins as king and challenging the hill will be counted. Achieving a win total first will suffice for tiebreakers. 2nd and 3rd will play. Winner will earn the right to play the 1 seed for the title of season Overlord, as well as starting the next season as king. Those 2 matches will be 5 games instead of 3, using a different deck each game. Any decks may be used.

Hey! Not fair! We played 4 games and I told you that I wanted to fool around with a "Johnny Deck" first then play with my "real" deck afterwards. You won 2-0 against my Johnny Zombie deck (is not too bad, just a bit slow) but then I won 2-0 while using my current "serious" build for the season.

I'm happy to give you a tie, but even that is not quite fair, as I told you in advance that I wanted to fool around with the johnny deck before getting serious

Seems Auunj will be first up then you. With this format games have to wait for who is current King, Lamar winner. As mentioned I should be free at weekend anytime. Just post the result so it's clear who is King.

Lol to be fair in return I just got your invite. Either way someone has to start it. I guess it was Johnny deck as the games were very one sided. But at least it should mean you have to bring your best.it's best of 3 so 2-0 was as many games I think needed. I guess in reverse my last deck bant was one I knew had issues in original testing as much as I enjoy Bant and Tamiyo is great. I guess the build lacks but your very aggro build was always going to be tough. You need decent control deck or as fast a deck to compete. Anyway all to play for on the hill for real.

I saw now the rules on the other thread and I find the 24 hour deadline a bit too restrictive for my current availability. 48 hours would work best while still being reasonably fast (especially considering short-notice-pairing is tricky with all those timezones). But I don't mean to suggest a change if 24hr works best for all. I will do what I can. I might not ever win anyway

It's casual anyway and we are not over numerous in iOS players. As long as we know who is next and so on I don't see an issue. At its heart it's just formalising competitive play. Although I could have recorded more often or not it's going to be check NGA, player X is waiting, grab the pad and play a best of 3. Nice and simple like. The only thing to be clear about is who current King is and I will do my best to keep that current but please do post your results post match to assist. SD

Exactly. If 24 ours pass all that happens is you get skipped until you post to let us know you're back. Then you're up in the same spot, not at the back of the line. Hopefully that keeps everything going, but gives you flexibility about matches, cause, life happens and such.
