At least no one's tried to jump onto the horse...yet...maybe after a night of drinking...

BTW - how deep is the canal?

If you all have expectations for myself and/or other players, things we should have in a code of conduct (if we want one), you can state/discuss them here, and then I'll put together the ones we agree on in the first post as well.

ETA: The canals are mostly three or four squares deep. Heartway canal gets up to five squares deep. The canal in front of your building is three.

Everyone seems to want to try and jump onto Udacha.... does anyone realize that they're probably just gonna hurt the horse and themselves? Not to mention it'd still be tied to the post, so even if you land on it, you'd have to dismount, untie and remount just to make use of it...

Yeah, but jumping out of a window onto the horse is classic action movie shenanigans.

I expect to have fun. As for a CoC, being brand new to this, I really don't know what would be needed there.

Aside from the obvious - no railroading, and stay in character, what else is really needed?

Also - on an aside note, I really just want to thank you all (Especially DS for setting this whole world up) for allowing me to get back into this type of game.

Edit - I have no plans on jumping into Udacha...but it could be fun...of course, aside from it still being tied to the post, I have to assume the door is closed as well.

We really dont want Clank jumping...a dead horse helps no one.

Don't worry, a dead Clank would follow. ^_^

Actually, if my plan works, everyone can jump out of the window as he pleases without having to break any bones.

That's awfully cryptic, what is this plan you have?

Well, the part I'm talking about involves the window of escape. It's a second level magic item (520 GP), that lets everyone who jumps out of the window float to the ground without taking any falling damage. I thought of it the moment the whole jump-out-of-window discussion started.

Well, for example, in the game BH runs here, the rule/expectation is that players are to post within two days when others are waiting for you.

Thank you too!

As a side note to everyone, general murder is not against the law. Murder of government workers and officials currently is, inciting panic and chaos and disturbing the peace if you murder someone out in the public is, most people rich enough will have estates or families that will sue you for everything, people generally shun murderers, and city guards will try to prevent a murder taking place, but you won't ever be charged with just murder and arrested.

I'm fine with that...aside from something very unexpected, I'll be able to post multiple times a day.

Wouldn't that be from only 1 specific window? With all of the other issues (only one horse, it being tied down, the gate being closed) I'm not sure there's really enough reason to buy that.

What about for daring escapes? Or you could outfit the whole building with such windows.

I'm not saying there's no use for it, but...hopefully, we won't be getting chased out (or attacked within) our place too often.

Like half of what I say is tongue-in-cheek. It's hard to tell over text though.

I've heard windows of escape are best for airships. The ship's going down? Jump through the window and land thousands of feet down safely. I don't think the description says you float gently down though.

LOL - I should have picked up on that...yeah, there really should be a better way to lay down the sarcasm while typing...

BH, could you note on your character sheet that your constitution-based weapon attack rolls also get a +2 proficiency bonus and a +1 enhancement bonus for a total +10? Or is that spot just for constitution rolls of either weapon or implement?

ETA: For dice rolls, could everyone only put static bonuses/penalties in the dice roller and then add or subtract temporary bonuses or penalties like marks or combat advantage outside?

For example, I get a static +5 ability + 2 half level +1 enhancement to my attack rolls. I also happen to be flanking my enemy, so I get combat advantage. In the text post, I write it out as such:

DS rolled 1d20+8 and got a total of 21:
13
+ 2 = [total]

I can go back and edit in the result for [total] once I post.

This is to help me because I don't have great detail orientation so it helps me track the endless bonuses and penalties D&D uses.
