OK...still cutting through all the series I have to watch. Finished: Overlord: I actually thought it was cool. There isn't anything really spectacular about it, but I tend to enjoy shows with a lot of hidden information and shows about living in new worlds. I find the main character a refreshing mix of good and evil too and I enjoy the way the show handles it. Basically, the character doesn't even act like its a big deal. There is some brief reflection on his emotional reaction to the killing of humans, but overall I'm glad the series isn't spending 15 minutes trying to justify the evil actions through the eyes of the character. It happens and you figure out if you want to be ok with it. I hope they do a second season.
The Legend of the Legendary Heroes: Holy crap, figure out what you want to do in a story! I did enjoy the relationship between the two main characters though. Anyways, the show spends the first half of season one going over some political intrigue nonsense that never seems to mean anything at all to the series. The main characters go treasure hunting for exactly 5 seconds before completely abandoning the idea, then the show focuses on the oppression of Alpha Stigmas before deciding "screw it, lets just end the series." I think it could have been really good it it had developed some focus. Otherwise, don't bother.
The Devil is a Part Timer: Meh. I don't really know how to review this one. Not really a fan of the whole "slice of life" thing and I think this might be trying to mix that genre with something else. I didn't really enjoy it.

Cheer Boys and waifu art project are aots. I don't know if there are any I expect to be good in a more general sense, and not a "panders to Mown" sense. orange is probably the primary candidate.
Food Wars season 2 started. As a fan of cooking shows, I love this show.
Have you seen Gourmet Girl Graffiti? It's like the Julia Child's cooking show high school anime to Food War's Chopped/Cutthroat Kitchen/Iron Chef.

So, I finished Log Horizon season 1 semi-recently. While I liked having an intelligent protagonist, and most of the characters are fairly likeable, I have no interest in watching more. It feels like it had too many one-gag characters, while also lingering on exposition too long. It doesn't help that the world is ultra-generic fantasy.

Yeah, Log Horizon was the king of exposition. The only thing I found interesting about it was how it focused on international relations and economy building. Not because it was interesting, but because it was different. Everything about it was fairly generic though. Season 2 doesn't get any better.

Thats in my queue, but its one I think my wife might enjoy if she has to watch anime with me, so I won't be watching it for a while. I heard its good though.
Recently finished: Hellsing Ultimate: I can't believe it took me so long to watch Hellsing. It was a great show though. I liked the art style, the characters were quite enjoyable, and the premise was cool. Freezing: Garbage, although it looked like it might get it's act together. Story might have been ok if it wasn't interrupted by all the pointless nudity. Manyuu Hikenchou: Really garbage, although the premise is hilariously ridiculous. "In a world where big breasts equal wealth and power, the nobility severs the breasts of the commoners. One woman disagrees with this practice!" Highschool DxD: Its ok, but mostly dumb. The idea behind it is cool and the abilities are cool, but its nothing special. Just another Harem anime with nudity. I did enjoy how unapologeticly they portrayed the main character though. Seikon no Qwaser: Really dumb. Alchemists get power from sucking on breasts. Could have been really cool though, I like the idea of the alchemists and powers based on one element on the periodic table.
Just finished the first season of Date a Live. It's made me laugh quite a bit surprisingly. Might be worth a watch. I like the look of the spirits and the general tone of the show, but its still only ok.
At the end of the day, why not watch a lot of blatant fanservice shows? They are generally pretty easy to keep engaged with and don't often require much attention to follow along with so easy to multitask with. That is not universally true for every show that is essentially nothing but blatant fanservice, but I think it would easily apply to 90%. Watching shows that take themselves seriously can be wearing.
Though I will admit that I am somewhat startled that you watched that many of them in what seems like about a month.

I have 109 anime in my queue to watch. Most I acquired as a result of "Top anime" lists, some I acquired because I listen to anime music while playing MTGO and decided to follow up on the tune I enjoyed (thus, Date a Live and Aldnoah), and some just resided on the shared drive over here so I grabbed them up onto my computer. And seeing as how my deployment will be over in a few days, and in a few months I'll be back with my wife and kids, I organized the shows into four categories: My wife will hate My wife probably won't like My wife might like Highest chance my wife will like
I'm working through them so that when I get back with my wife, I'll be on the shows with the greatest chance for both of use to enjoy so we don't have to be in separate rooms. And since my wife would not like fan service, I am burning through those first. I finished all he ones she would obviously hate. Here's the list of whats left though:

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is excellent provided your wife likes tragedies. I suspect it would be a good show to watch together. Monogatari is quite good, if heavy on fan service. Also talking, it is very heavy on talking. And trippy visuals, it is very heavy on those too. If your suspicions about Assassination Classroom are based on violence, then don't worry- it's a light-hearted comedy. Evangelion is a must watch. Just don't expect to understand everything. Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers is mediocre. I understand Muv Luv is horrible. Magi is solid and family/wife friendly. I mean, I don't know what she likes, but it doesn't contain anything you said she dislikes.

Thanks! The sorting is based on nudity, fan service, and violence weighing negatively with story, romance, and artistic quality weighing positively. Also, if the show seems like it will effect me emotionally in any way, I'm sure my wife would love it just for that . Additionally, if the show got a generally poor score on IMDB or myanimelist it drops in the sorting, although if women seem to rate it significantly higher than men in my wifes age category I might knock it up a notch.
Based on your input, I went to watch Muv Luv next and found out it doesn't work. So I've decided to sort the unsorted ones...seems like 11eyes might be next.
I also noticed the Adult Swim show Black Dynamite snuck on the list since it was in the Anime section of the shared drive lol.
