Not a huge fan of the quest. Would rather splash for the lightning.

I actually agree with all the picks from Pack 1 I wasn't around to bitch about.

This format is the second fastest format of all Formats. The only one faster is Triple Zendikar (c wut I did thar?)
If you can land a Terra Stomper, however, it WILL win you the game. The only card I'd take over the Stomper is Grazing Gladeheart, just because gaining 4-6 life can actually decide a ZEN draft race.

The choices for the current pack are between Quest for the Gemblades, Burst Lightning, and Into the Roil. Other notables are Lethargy Trap and Zektar Shrine expedition.

Obviously only one of these cards is in our colors, and its our pick.

Quest for the Gemblade.

Quest, but actually i like the outfitters here. The other cards aren't in color, and we're pretty deep into GW already.

Wow, two into the roils in a row. I don't want to play against that guy!

Anyway, hookmaster is awesome.

isn't nissa's chosen also pickable? hookmaster is better and my pick, but I remember people saying jamming a bunch of 2-mana 2/3s in a fast format is fine.

Nissa's chosen is good, but Hookmaster is better, as you say :P.

Hookmaster is the pick.

but the green cards in this pack aren't shoddy at all.

Yes. I didn't analyse the whole pack this time because I was a little low on time, but chosen is a solid card.

Never having played these I thought Nissa's chosen was slightly better... since it eats bears. But a turn-3 hookmaster is basically a bolt to the face and a 2/2. So I won't go against the grain here.

Hookmaster is great because it helps the race on both sides. It removes a blocker and prevents that creature from attacking. So we get more damage through and they get less damage through.

Also, "late" game (turn 5), skyfisher on hookmaster is a thing.

is the sorcery-speed of charge terrible? seems like this is a "tap out and dump your hand" format, which makes it decent.

charge, unless it sucks. then silhouette.

Definitely between those 2. Too bad the GW allies in this pack suck. I think charge is probably a better finisher but I don't like the . I guess when in doubt go with the cheaper card, Savage Silhouette.

The red deck is looking pretty good!

IIRC, removal was pretty decent and common in this format, which made trollhide worse than in, say, M14. Often, you can't really afford to wait till turn 5 to play it.

The sorcery speed on charge doesn't matter one bit. More often than not, you want to use it to attack before blockers anyway. It's a finisher. I personally didn't love it, but it's bad. If you have 2 bears, it's often 8 damage to the face, which is good in an aggro deck.

I'm not really liking either picks too much. I'm even thinking about the cleric or the gorger, but they're kind of sad picks as well... I guess Windborne Charge.

Because it's fine, but not that good. Nothing surprising about seeing it pick 4.

I'm between Charge and the Jorga Bard Ally.

Vote for picking Charge

Charge is almost a bomb in this format, purely because of how fast it is.
