Not yet, what's the record ? I had given up on tokens.

For monowhite, I'm still loving Anuuj's version but because I lack two copies of Make a Stand, it's not getting its fair shake. Man, responding to a planar outburst with a Make A Stand has been insta-concede every time

I just hit rank 40 playing Anuuj's decklist. Most wins were very quick and easy. I did lose a few to mulligans and a few more to turn 4 Languish, I played right into them because yolo, but for the most part just rolled over everything else. Thanks for sharing! I also was playing with only 1 Make a Stand like Black Barney. I used 2 Tandem Tactics in place of them and it worked well. I might even prefer them over the Expose Evil in the deck but the investigate is useful.

Hi!

I read and play a lot but havn't posted anything yet. Now I wish to share and recieve comments.
I have almoust similar deck to Anuujj -

Quote:

1 x Kytheon, Hero of Akros
3 x Topplegeist
3 x Anointer of Champions
3 x Expedition Envoy
2 x Hanweir Militia Captain
2 x Thalia's Lieutenant
2 x Knight of the White Orchid
3 x Consul's Lieutenant
4 x Topan Freeblade
4 x Grasp of the Hieromancer
2 x Expose Evil
2 x Declaration in Stone
2 x Bygone Bishop
2 x Always Watching
3 x Make a Stand
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar

21 x Plains

Unfortunatly I still lack Make a Stand. And have few others cards.

My deck atm:
1 x Kytheon, Hero of Akros
3 x Topplegeist
3 x Expedition Envoy
2 x Hanweir Militia Captain
2 x Thalia's Lieutenant
2 x Knight of the White Orchid
3 x Consul's Lieutenant
4 x Topan Freeblade
4 x Grasp of the Hieromancer
2 x Declaration in Stone
2 x Bygone Bishop
3 x Skyhunter Skirmisher
2 x Always Watching
3 x Hope Against Hope
2 x Kytheon's Irregulars
1 x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
1 x Archangel Avacyn

15 x Plains
1 x Rogue's Passage
4 x Sandstone Bridge

Actualy didn't lost a game yet (also lucky) against ai or steam players (range 13 - but play with diffrent decks).
Things I am willing to throw out for stand are Kytheo's Irregulars (rarly play them - if in hand).

Everything else is working just fine. Skyhunter, altho not human is great, especialy if you combine them with pumper cards like "Black Watch" or "Hope".
Till I get "stand" the only answer to sweepers is not to have all soldiers on table.

Rgds,
One I

You play it just like me! t3....well... here goes nothing! OVER EXTEND FTW

Makes the games quicker either way so it's win-win.

I got a 2nd copy of Make a Planar Concede so I'm almost at the point of really giving this deck a serious try.

Hey all, would love some feedback on this tribal aggro deck.
It's speedy enough and quite fun to build up a little army.
Only problem is board wipes (but what's new) and occasionally ramp decks that survive long enough.

Honestly my favorite card might be the wee Anointer of Champions combined with Always Watching.

Threats
Anointer of Champions x3
Relic Seeker x2
Hanweir Militia Captain x2
Thalia's Lieutenant x2
Knight of the White Orchid x2
Consul's Lieutenant x3
Bygone Bishop x2
Archangel of Tithes
Kytheon's Irregulars x2
Archangel Avacyn

Control
Gideon's Reproach x3
Celestial Flare x3
Declaration in Stone x2
Supression Bonds x2

Support
Stoneforge Masterwork x2
Slayer's Plate x2
Always Watching x2
Hope Against Hope x3
Gideon, Ally of Zendikar

Lands
Plains x15
Westvale Abbey x2
Sandstone Bridge x3

Rarely I run into problems getting two on the curve, so maybe Sandstone Bridge could be replaced but they have value until Always Watching drops.

Probably the best quality of this desk is its flexible and rapidly growing threat base. Creature Control doesn't affect it too much as equipment can be swapped and sweepers can appear seemingly out of nowhere. Lots of first strike helps on defense, and with Vigilance, is fabulous. Board wipes are its major weakness but a lucky Archangel Avacyn can save the day.

I'm thinking maybe there's too much control and not enough pump spells a la Make a Stand or Enshrouding Mist or Tenacity.

What d'ya think?? :D

I agree with your comment about too much control. I'd drop 1 each of Celestial Flare and [card]Gideon
s Reproach[/card] for 2 Make A Stand, and maybe drop one Anointer of Champions for a Kytheon, Hero of Akros. The Make A Stand will also help with sweepers as the only ones that can get around indestructible are blacks one like Languish and Biting Rain that give board-wide -X/-X. Pretty much any other sweeper is useless. This is all just from a quick look, however; unfortunately, I'm missing some of the cards I would need to actually play this deck.

Eria - that's a list pretty similar to mine for EMN, but with a couple key differences - enough that I'll make a (small) post about mine and why I've chosen it.

First, this format is very very grindy. have incredible tools for card advantage, recursion, and removal. You have no hope of winning any long games without playing a similar strategy or burning them - and white has no top-deck reach to speak of. As such, the goal of a mono-white deck, in my mind, should be to go under everybody with the fastest possible list. This brings me to the first deck I built immediately upon seeing the new tools white got in EMN:

Face is the Place ()
(Aggro)

Threats

1x Kytheon, Hero of Akros
3x Topplegeist
3x Anointer of Champions
3x Expedition Envoy
2x Relic Seeker
2x Hanweir Militia Captain
2x Thalia's Lieutenant
2x Knight of the White Orchid
2x Selfless Spirit
3x Consul's Lieutenant
4x Topan Freeblade
2x Thalia, Heretic Cathar
1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar

Removal

2x Declaration in Stone

Anthems

2x Always Watching
3x Borrowed Grace
2x Collective Effort

Lands (21)

20x Plains
1x Westvale Abbey/Ormendahl, Profane Prince

Mana Source Reasoning
We want all white sources and no tapped lands. I think there are enough cards to freeroll a single value land, so the only question is which one. We've got no real "outs" to draw to, so Sanitarium isn't amazing - Westvale Abbey is much better for just finishing off a game (and generates humans, which comes up sometimes). More notable is the land count itself - we're running 21 here because we want to get to exactly three lands. You win the one-for-one trades by drawing more threats.

Card Selection
Every cheap and efficient mono-white creature. Notably, if you don't care about blocking - and we really don't - then Relic Seekers are Freeblades x5 and 6. I think it's a mistake not to play Selfless Spirit in any white aggro deck; 2/1 flier for 2 is a good deal, and blowing out half the sweepers in the format is big game. Angelic Destiny seemed interesting - but in the games you lose, it's because they killed every one of your creatures, so an aura doesn't help a ton. It also doesn't return to hand if they kill the creature with it on the stack, or if they exile/bounce your threat. I'm still a little unsure on Make a Stand vs. Borrowed Grace, but I think the turn off the clock is worth more than the indestructible, especially with Selfless Spirit as your sweeper insurance.

With Blessed Alliance being a commonly played card, I think there's incentive both to play Anointer of Champions, and to attack with it rather than pumping most of the time. This also means it hurts less to play with non vigilance anthems.

One equipment could also be reasonable with the Relic Seekers, but there's nothing in the format that I'd want to draw, and very few things that I'd cast even if I got to draw them for free, so I've decided against it.

For those interested, a link to some of my better decks.

If I ever built an Esper Control deck, it would still somehow contain 2x Sylvan Advocate, 2x Tireless Tracker, 1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer, 1x Reclamation Sage, 1x Nissa, Vital Force, and 1x Woodland Bellower.

hi, Zerris. I'll be honest I wasn't really sure what I was doing, just quickly tossed this together and posted after I climbed from rank 10 to 20.

There seems to be a lot of flooding in my games no matter how many lands I run so I put the Geier Reach Sanitarium to cycle land draws after turn 4-5. That's bad, I should just be aiming to win the game by then. It has done some work in the black/red madness match-up when we both are top decking though. Angelic Destiny isn't great, in 2 of the 3 games I played it my guy just got bounced the next turn and goodbye enchant. In the other game I had a 7/7 first strike vigilance flyer which was awesome. I wasn't sure what to replace it with, cutting a land and it for another 2 of something is probably a good idea.

I am running Selfless Spirit in another deck and haven't been very impressed by it. Versus Radiant Flames it seems best but I haven't been hit by that in all my games surprisingly. Maybe I should be looking at it as something to attack with and force removal before my opponent can block all my dudes. Borrowed Grace was completely overlooked, this can actually save my Topan Freeblade and in your case Relic Seeker from Languish, wow!

All in all, you've given me a lot to think about. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me and everyone on this forum. Your posts are always a pleasure to read.

Agreed, this format is super grindy. Which is why I've been staying away from moncolored decks, lol
Need more versatility than one color can offer.
One thing I find odd is the lack of pure control decks; with all the removal in the game I expected someone to run something with early removal and follow-up with sweepers and big hard to kill guys, but no one has taken up that mantle. Everyone just lets you do w/e
I guess ppl are still traumatized from the insanity that was elves vs mostly white humans, lol

Monowhite humans is a deck that's iconic and powerful enough to archive for posterity. Here's a list and small deck tech.

3x Anointer of Champions - a 1-drop that's also a "combat trick" later in the game. Quite good for forcing your renown creatures through.
1x Kytheon, Hero of Akros - better than a generic 2/1 for 1.
3x Expedition Envoy - generic 2/1 for 1. The card's not strong, but it's a necessary evil.
2x Selfless Spirit - 2/1 flyer is already good, and the ability is very relevant.
2x Hanweir Militia Captain - it's a generic 2/2 for 2, but it's not too hard to flip it (or at least threaten to) in this deck. If it does flip, it's extremely good.
4x Topan Freeblade - high quality 2-drop.
3x Consul's Lieutenant - another high quality 2-drop. An unanswered renowned Consul's Lieutenant is the easiest way to win the game.
2x Thalia's Lieutenant - this is one of the cards that makes the deck even possible in the first place. Powerful ETB effect, and keeps growing afterwards.
2x Knight of the White Orchid - high quality 2-drop. Remember the land enters untapped.
2x Thalia, Heretic Cathar - a bomb in our environment, and conveniently a human.

1x Gideon, Ally of Zendikar - "duh".

2x Declaration in Stone - powerful tempo play. Odds are, if they spend their mana cracking the clue, you are happy.
2x Expose Evil - helps you get past blockers and it replaces itself. With renown, it's possible you can attack past the blocker again next turn.
2x Always Watching - archetype staple.
2x Collective Effort - very flexible card. Often an anthem but can also kill a big blocker.

2x Smuggler's Copter - too powerful to not run, offers evasive damage and a way to filter off unwanted cards if you are mana flooded / mana screwed.
2x Aethersphere Harvester - evasive damage and helps you win a race. Its big backside is quite notable: you can for example attack into a Gisela without dying. With Always Watching and Anointer of Champions it gets even better.
2x Fleetwheel Cruiser - this is the card that pushes opponents from "losing" to "lost". Strong any time you can cast it.

19x Plains
2x Westvale Abbey - almost free, you can conceivably flip it.

---------
Other possibilities:

Bygone Bishop - generates a lot of value, good for slower versions of the deck. Downside is that you are running few lands already, so mana screwing is more common than mana flooding. If you use this card, increase the land count.
Gisela, the Broken Blade - this card typically demands an answer; if it goes unanswered you almost always win. 4/3 flying first strike is extremely good and the lifelink also helps you outrace aggressive decks. Downside is it's not that hard to kill (Harnessed Lightning, Dynavolt Tower, Fiery Temper etc all kill it) and if it dies this way you lose valuable tempo, since the removal that kills it are all cheaper than Gisela itself. If you use this card, increase the land count.
Archangel Avacyn - this card is very strong purely on power level. It's a great combat trick and flipping it also equals 3 points of burn. You can trigger it at will if you have Selfless Spirit. Downside is it's a 5-mana card, so if you use it, increase the land count.
Lone Rider - I tend not to like this card since it's weak unless you can buff it. You do have lots of ways to buff it, however. If you can reliably flip it then it's a good card since the flip side is so good. Blessed Alliance can immediately flip this card, but it's also a weak removal spell since you want to be attacking.
Hope Against Hope - if you dare play auras.
Make a Stand - alternative to Expose Evil. It's a pretty-pricey combat trick, however.
Skysovereign, Consul Flagship - a powerful card, but like Avacyn, this is a 5-drop. Increase the land count if you run this, and consider taking out some other vehicles as well since you don't want to be stuck with all vehicles and no pilots.

---------
Playstyle:

Not hard, try to curve out and out-tempo your opponent. Remember that past a certain point, you want to play threats that survive sweepers: vehicles or planeswalkers preferably, or Selfless Spirit. Sweepers are your worst enemy. Selfless Spirit or Make a Stand can help you beat Radiant Flames or Planar Outburst, but not Languish, Yahenni's Expertise and Tragic Arrogance.

If given a choice on which creature to play first, I typically try to play the renown creatures first, just in case the opponent stumbles.

Try not to be too aggressive with Westvale Abbey's second mode. Ormendahl can generally be answered more easily than five creatures. At the same time, don't forget it's there. Against decks that can't beat Ormendahl, it's a game-winner.

Thoughts on the cards Amonkhet offered for monowhite humans:

Glory-Bound Initiate - 3/1 for 2 is extremely aggressive and you can exert it later to attack past bigger blockers. Exert is also great with Always Watching. I think this card is better than Topan Freeblade, the benchmark vanilla 2-drop. Warning: too many 1-health minions can make Liliana, the Last Hope unbeatable.
Gust Walker - an alternative to Topan Freeblade, you hit for 2 early and then fly over for three later. At least, that's the hope. I find that ground stalls aren't too common with monowhite humans since you've got cards that are specifically for this situation (Expose Evil, Make a Stand, Anointer of Champions). I think this card is inferior to Topan Freeblade.
Devoted Crop-Mate - I've yet to try this card but it seems like a high-variance one. It's either awesome or falls flat on its face, point being that everything you bring back will still be vulnerable to sweepers. But if your opponent doesn't have a sweeper, you're probably in good shape! For a 3-drop its size is also not particularly good (compare Thalia). I remain to be convinced it's worth trying.
Gideon of the Trials - not a very impressive card but it's a planeswalker -> it survives sweepers.
Rhet-Crop Spearmaster - I think this is a worse version of Glory-Bound Initiate. First strike is great, having to exert is not so great, and first strike doesn't matter if the opponent can't block, which is where you want to be. As before, ground stalls aren't that common with this deck.
Oketra the True - it's not a human and neither are the creatures it creates. But if turned on, she's great. If you use her, increase the land count since she's an OK mana sink.
Compulsory Rest - potentially better than Declaration in Stone, although there's a good chance the two life matters more than an extra card.

The remaining cards are very "meh". Trial of Solidarity is probably inferior to Make a Stand when it comes to forcing through damage, unless you use Cartouches to bring it back, but monowhite humans is an aggro deck that doesn't have time for this kind of slow value play. With Honored Crop-Champion an option as well, perhaps it's time to retire monowhite humans for Boros humans.

Oddly the only human synergy is via Thalia's Lieutenant, and there are only two of them!?
