I'm on the fence about Merciless Resolve. I often end up discarding it because in the early game I want to keep my blockers and lands. Complete Disregard is also an instant, and adds some nice targeted control.
I agree. this card is one i'm not sure about

How would Altar's Reap compare? How many times do you toss lands to Resolve?

Generally, though, it's a 1 card hand advantage, but a 1 permanent loss, too. I love the card in other decks, but here it feels like it's spinning in place in a deck not designed to leverage raw card advantage.

For a replacement, though. I'm not sure. I like Necromantic Summons and would probably keep one of those and one Disregard, as others said. or maybe the Disregard and one Witness the End just to prompt some rage quits.

What's your motivation for running Complete Disregard? Seems like Grasp of Darkness is better instant speed removal. Would straight up kill most relevant (read: played) </= 3 power creatures, while giving options vs creatures > 3 power. Also pairs with combat damage to kill > 4 toughness targets.

I'm not sure I have a motivation apart from that I want to avoid too much double costed spells. I struggled a bit with the mana already as it were, and the deck has plenty of creature removal beside Complete Disregard.

Thought it might be for the single vs double black. Seemed like you have enough black sources in your mana base to support it just fine - but if your play experience has been dif, then I can see why you'd prefer the one that only requires one black.

Hi there. I’ve been lurking for awhile and have decided to finally post something.

I’ve always been a fan of graveyard manipulation strategies, so I’ve spent most of my ladder time this season tinkering with BG delirium. I did most of my ladder climb (rank 35) with this deck before I eventually came to the conclusion that the cardpool for a top-tier delirium deck isn’t quite there yet. Hopefully Eldritch Moon can give the mechanic a little support.

CREATURE - 21
2 Deathcap Cultivator
3 Obsessive Skinner
2 Sylvan Ranger
2 Inexorable Blob
3 Kindly Stranger
2 Tireless Tracker
1 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet
1 Mindwrack Demon
1 Greenwarden of Murasa
1 Gaea's Revenge
2 Plated Crusher

SPELL - 15
2 Dead Weight
3 Vessel of Nascency
1 Grasp of Darkness
1 Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
1 Pulse of Murasa
2 Wildsize
2 Oblivion Strike
1 Necromantic Summons
2 Ever After

LAND - 24
4 Evolving Wilds
9 Forest
7 Swamp
2 Westvale Abbey
2 Woodland Cemetery

The strategy is pretty simple: try to stall or pressure the board depending on the matchup. Keep an eye on delirium and crack a Vessel as soon as you can benefit from it or have spare mana. Filling the graveyard turns on delirium as well as our reanimation spells. The ideal finish is Ever After into to one or more Large Green Men.

Notes on some cards that I tested and removed:
Duskwatch Recruiter: Delirium can’t afford to be too creature heavy, so this guy whiffs a little too often to be useful.
Moldgraf Scavenger: Strong vs. aggro but generally feels a bit weak. By the time we get delirium a 3/4 will often have very little board impact.
Sylvan Advocate: I simply hadn’t opened any of these yet while I was playing the deck. He’s good enough to replace Skinners, Rangers, or Blobs.
Liliana, Heretical Healer: Low creature count makes her hard to flip. Removed her when I opened Kalitas.
Gilt-Leaf Winnower: Very situational. Good when reanimated but a bit redundant with Kindly Stranger.

This is a post-Eldritch Moon deathtouch/delirium deck list. It's mostly focused on the deathtouch side of things, but since some of the better deathtouch cards use delirium, I splashed some in. The Retreat to Hagra is in here because we have a handful of powerful cards that don't have deathtouch, so they can be giving it with the Retreat. Unfortunately, my curve is a little high. Also, you can take this deck a different route: if you cut out the non-deathtouch delirium cards, you can fill those slots with some pump spells like Titanic Growth to take advantage of the fact that most people aren't going to want to block them. Another card to think about adding more of is Prey Upon, because it's basically "destroy target creature" when you're running it in this deck. Thoughts?
Creature(23)
3 Gnarlwood Dryad
4 Rancid Rats
2 Deathcap Cultivator
2 Sylvan Advocate
2 Graveblade Marauder
3 Malakir Familiar
1 Kindly Stranger
1 Mindwrack Demon
3 Pharika's Disciple
1 Ishkanah, Grafwidow
1 The Gitrog Monster

Instant(2)
2 Murder

Sorcery(4)
1 Prey Upon
1 Whispers of Emrakul
1 Gather the Pack
1 Oblivion Strike

Enchantment(4)
2 Crop Sigil
2 Retreat to Hagra

Planeswalker(2)
1 Liliana, the Last Hope
1 Ob Nixilis Reignited

Land(25)
11 Swamp
2 Hissing Quagmire
9 Forest
2 Woodland Cemetery
1 Evolving Wilds

Not quite, since your creature will die as well most likely. If you want that removal spell, you should run Rabid Bite (the difference being that your creature most likely lives it)

It seems kinda hard for this deck to achieve Delirium, and so far you don't have too many payoffs for getting it. I think you'll want to focus the deck a bit more to be either a Deathtouch-Pump-Stompy deck or a Delirium deck, because they don't go together too well in my mind.

I personally don't like Retreat to Hagra that much, especially if you're going for an aggressive deck.

Ishkanah, Grafwidow seems to go nice with some Eldrazi love if it's purpose is to run delirium :) (circumstancial)exile target creature and put back in battlefield tapped

Delirium was in an awkward spot in SOI. Most of the delirum payoff was midrangey aggression, but in order to hit delirium quickly and consistently you can't be too heavy on creatures. In EMN it will be interesting if Whispers of Emrakul can team up with with Kindly Stranger and various graveyard tricks to give us a solid aggo-control build.

This looks decent at first glance. I'd add 2x Hissing Quagmire.

I dislike playing more than four taplands, but you're probably right. If it feels awful I could always cut an Evolving Wild or two. Also, now that I think about it, I guess there are reasons not to run The Gitrog Monster and Ulvenwald Hydra in the same deck... I'd probably replace one of them with DIstended Mindbender.

Okay! Here's Deathtouch 2.0. Taking Modulo's advice, I trimmed out pretty much everything that has to do with delirium and focused on the deathtouch ability. I've also got a lot of pumps to take advantage of the fact nobody likes blocking a creature with deathtouch.

Creature(22)
3x Gnarlwood Dryad
4x Rancid Rats
2x Deathcap Cultivator
2x Sylvan Advocate
2x Graveblade Marauder
3x Malakir Familiar
2x Tireless Tracker
3x Pharika's Disciple
1x The Gitrog Monster

Instant(7)
3x Titanic Growth
2x Murder
2x Woodcutter's Grit

Sorcery(6)
2x Reave Soul
4x Rabid Bite

Planeswalker(1)
1x Ob Nixilis Reignited

Land(24)
8x Swamp
2x Hissing Quagmire
10x Forest
2x Woodland Cemetery
2x Evolving Wilds

It's really just a simple stompy kind of deck that also utilizes deathtouch. The few creatures in the deck that don't have deathtouch are some of the best cards for green. The Deathcap Cultivator won't always have deathtouch, but the ramp is useful. One card that I really want to add but don't know where to put it is Necromatic Summons. The deathtouch + Rabid Bite combo (again, thanks to Modulo for pointing that out) means that any creature that isn't indestructible or hexproof can hit the grave easily. And some of those cards would probably be useful to pluck out of the opponent's graveyard for you field. Where do you guys think I could put it in?

That deck really feels like it wants Chandra's Ignition. Even though it's double red, it would be excellent as a board wipe. Also, you need ways to deal with indestructible creatures. so I'd take Oblivion Strike over Murder since you have plenty of ways to kill "destructible" creatures already. A few Fleshbag Marauders will deal with Ulamog and the like as long as you take pains to keep the opponent's board clear. I also think your plan to win shouldn't be getting damage through with pumped 1/1s - that's too vulnerable a game plan. Instead, I'd use the deathtoucher army to sit back, preserve my life total and get a huge evasive wincon out. Westvale Abbey is nice here, as well as two copies of Kotophed, Soul Hoarder and of course Plated Crusher. Both Nissas would be good in this deck since they can just hang back and plus themselves for card advantage.

-2 [/card]Evolving Wilds[/card]
-1 Titanic Growth
+2 Westvale Abbey
+1 Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
+1 Nissa, Vastwood Seer

+1 Oblivion Strike

I think the first thing to do is to figure out how aggressive or defensive you want to be. Titanic Growth is a very aggressive card and Kothophed benefits from being in a control shell. You don't have to be pure aggro or pure control, but some cards only perform well in one extreme or the other. If you do want a lot of pump spells, but you're not trying to go pure aggro, you might want to go with Wildsize, for example, which won't deplete your hand size and will help you punch through tokens to kill Gideon or Nissa.

If you're going to pack dedicated removal beyond Rabid Bite, I'd stick to cards like the aforementioned Oblivion Strike and Fleshbag, but also Grasp of Darkness which can deal with Archangel Avacyn. All three of these give you flexibility beyond your deathtouch dudes.

Oh, and I like your idea of adding some reanimation effects, since you can probably force a lot of trades. Liliana, Heretical Healer should be easy to flip and could potentially bring back a Gnarlwood Dryad two out of every three turns.

Like most people on this thread I think the general consensus is that delirium is probably the best deck for these colors in the current meta, so here is my current list:

3 x Gnarlwood Dryad
2 x Deathcap Cultivator
2 x Sylvan Advocate
3 x Obsessive Skinner
3 x Moldgraf Scavenger
3 x Kindly Stranger
1 x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
3 x Mournwillow
1 x Ishkahah Grafwidow
1 x The Gritog Monster
1 x Woodland Bellower

3 x Sinister Concoction
4 x Vessel of Nascency
2 x Gather the Pack
1 x Liliana, the Last Hope
1 x Nissa, Voice of Zendikar
1 x Ob Nixilis Reginted

6 x Swamp
13 x Forest
2 x Hissing Quagmire
2 x Woodland Cemetery
2 x Evolving Wilds

Hi! Haven't posted a deck in a while, I just don't have the time any more to proper test and build. That said I finally had a bit of time and I decided to do a delirium deck. At fist it started like much of the decks posted here 3x Gnarlwood Dryad, 3x Moldgraf Scavenger, etc. but it slowly morphed into a GB control deck with a delirum sub theme to it. I must say I'm super happy with the deck and it's proven to be very good, I'm currently on a unbeaten run with it and rode on its back from rank 34 to 40 beating all sorts of archetypes.
It's not the easiest deck to pilot but like I said before once you get the hang of it it's super robust and consistent.
Here's the deck, let me know what you think and if you take it out for a spin tell me how it performs.

1 Drops
3x Sinister Concoction
1x Dead Weight
2x Vessel of Nascency

2 Drops
2x Deathcap Cultivator
2x Sylvan Advocate
2x Scrapheap Scrounger
2x Smuggler's Copter
2x Grasp of Darkness
3x Grapple with the Past
2x Whispers of Emrakul

3 Drops
1x Nissa, Vastwood Seer
2x Inexorable Blob
2x Tireless Tracker
2x Murder
1x Liliana, the Last Hope
1x Nissa, Voice of Zendikar

4 Drops
1x Mindwrack Demon
2x Languish

5 Drops
1x Verdurous Gearhulk
1x Ishkanah, Grafwidow
1x The Gitrog Monster
1x Skysovereign, Consul Flagship

Lands
8x Swamp
7x Forest
2x Woodland Cemetery
2x Hissing Quagmire
4x Evolving Wilds

As always and feedback is greatly appreciated.
