Done. I've now training in history.

Could you note that Resistive Formula also uses a healing infusion?

Also done.

Your feats list Staff Expertise and I can't see the whole thing you typed, so I want to make sure you have the right expertise feat, which is Implement Expertise (Staff), i.e., not the Essentials version. Actually, looking at your powers, it seems you did take the wrong expertise feat, since you should not have melee 2 with just a staff.

Sorry, I was a bit confused by the feat. I thought it'd apply to implement attacks as well.

I had a bit trouble reading the description of the world at first. I've rewritten my backstory to make it fit better in the setting.

Sorry, I'm not explaining it well. For a quarterstaff, there are three relevant expertise feats:

Weapon Expertise (Staff)
Implement Expertise (Staff)
Staff Expertise
Versatile Experience (Staff and Staff)

The third one covers using a staff both as a weapon and as an implement and also gives additional benefits on top of the +1 feat bonus, so it's clearly the best option. The problem is that the feat comes from Heroes of books, which we are not using. So, you do have to take both weapon and implement expertise (staff) or take the one versatile expertise (staff and staff) to hit both.

Oh, I didn't mean that there was a problem with your backstory, I was just throwing some more exposition your way and to get a clarification. I liked the original backstory too, and it does not contradict with what warforged are, because when they are made, they have a new consciousness without regard to the original elemental.

So, to be completely clear: Your original backstory worked and so does your new one.

Well, to be fair, I actually like my new one better, so I'm gonna stick with that.

Cool. Could you note your equipment on your sheet too? I don't see your quarterstaff and hide armor.

ETA: Garren and NeoSilk, are your two characters done?

As far as I know, soon is ready for action. Still have some more ideas for the backstory, but, I might just have that come out as we play.

Do we have a guess for when we are planning to start?

Slinker said he'd be ready Wednesday and assuming there are no problems, probably that day or Thursday. I theoretically can't do much this weekend because I have final papers due this coming week, but it's unrealistic for me to say I won't spend more time than I should on NGA.

Sounds good. Even when I'm busy, I end up here way too much during the weekdays and most nights. Looking forward to this!

Would you all be interested if I set up the thread early just to rp and others can show up as they finish?

If you did that, I would start posting. Could just finish out the backstory about how we've all met, get used to the house and all..

Your reception area is still pretty bare.

How are we marketing ourselves? That could determine how we decorate.
Either way, I'm guessing we need at least a table and chairs.

I've pretty much finished fleshing out my background and personality at this point so unless you urgently need to know something about it I'm pretty much good to roll.

Also Thursday sounds good to me. There will usually be a lull in posts while I'm at work but after that I'll pretty much be here all day (or night as the case would be).

Edit: As for the reception area I think the best thing to do would leave it somewhat spartan. Throw in a table large enough to throw a map or similar across it, a bunch of chairs around it and call it a day. Comfortable enough to stay in for a few hours while we plan or discuss business details but simple enough to still look professional. Also stick a kettle or period equivalent in there somewhere.

Kettle or keg?
Works for me. No need to look flashy at this point anyway.
I should be good for a few posts per day, depending on timing...unlike Garren, I can actually post more while at work...must be a USA/UK thing...;)

I put a table on the first floor and you all can continue to move things around or add things for free until we get fully started.

I will be sending out a PM to players as they finish their characters which are to help develop the character and situate them in the setting. If I ask you a question in that PM, they are meant to get you thinking and not something I need to know or I need to know now.

I'm sifting through various gear to buy.

How big of an infulence is weather? And whats the climate like here / what season is it?

Should I snag some cold weather gear? Rain gear? etc.

It's wet subtropical, so the summers are stormy and miserably hot, autumns are dry and temperate, winters are dry and cool, and springs are fickle, leaning wet. The game starts at the beginning of summer, so it's still just warming up.

During the hottest days, you will have to make Endurance checks if you don't find some relief from the heat, and heavy rain will impose an environmental penalty to attack rolls, but I don't plan on it being a significant part of the game.

btw, I don't know if anyone noticed that the Pashen section talks about eight major gods but only had seven. I finally figured out a good eighth god, so that's filled out.
