But Radiant Flames can only sweep with 3 dmg max? Red, White, Blue... why include Green as well?

Now I feel like I'm missing something really obvious. Either I'm an idiot, or you're messing with me and I'm an idiot.

Why Canopy Vista and Sunpetal Grove?

Er, wrong land. I will have to go through to see what I put in wrong, but all should be RUW. (I am the idiot :) )

Corrected now, thank you for catching that.

If you were to add a 4th color, it would be for Brilliant Spectrum; that's too hard on the mana though.

@wintervoid, Just wanted to say that I've tried out your inevitability deck, and I really like it. The way it blanks basically all creature removal, while they can't get their hand size down due to visions is priceless. Really fun, respectable win rates at the 30+ ranks on steam as well. Kudos.

@Wintervoid loved the mill deck, had some interesting burn wins on occasion.

I enjoyed your build, but ended up tweaking it toward more pure mill. I'll post the list here.

Biggest change in pace IMO is addition of Dazzling Reflection

Very versatile. Acts as a fog. Saves your life. Buys a turn for you before you use a sweeper. Saves a planeswalker. Buys you time overall. Just a great addition I've found, I'm never sad to see it in my hand unless I'm against mill / esper something

3 x Reprisal
3 x Dazzling reflection
3 x Telling time
2 x Declaration in stone

3 x Oath of jace
3 x Sphinx's tutelage
2 x Fevered visions
3 x Geistblast
2 x Radiant flames
2 x Exquisite firecraft

2 x talent of the telepath
1 x Gideon, ally of zendikar

2 x Planar outburst
1 x Jace, unraveler of secrets

1 x Part the waterveil
1 x Chandra, flamecaller

26 lands

No, but Ive found with either Wintvervoids deck or my changes to it, nothing really does stop him except for planar outburst. I really got sick of having my celestial flare to hold on to, praying it would be enough to stop him, and falling short because he has a crapy 1/1 eldrazi token, blisterpod, elf, or anything else that he will sac instead.

Gaea's revenge is just hard to deal with using any variation of this deck I feel. I can honestly say after about 15 matches with the original build I only pulled off celestial flare once against a GR. I don't miss the cut, personally

I've been playing this lately:

Wintervoid wrote:

My success rate is about 75% @r25-30, with all wins being very definitive.

Creature control is phenomenal, but the deck falls victim to poor initial draw.--- Sweet spot is 3 lands, Dreams -or- Tut, and pick your removal. Mana base is also very solid.
The combo potential with Geistblast and pretty much anything is excellent, especially with TotT.
Overall, I would say that it's a very fun deck, and a pleasant diversion from say 4CC PW or GW Aggro.
Haven't tried it at r30+

I gave Inevitability ^ a whirl and I've been absolutely loving it. Typically don't care much for decks that run Tutelage, but this deck is a blast. Nice work!

Yeah, that's a fun deck for sure. I get overwhelmed in the later game with all the options it has

Thank you all for the feedback and compliments on Inevitability. I have been looking at the new set, and I am trying to tune for a bit more aggro. Guessing Humans will be very strong, people will try Vampires, zombies and Spirits. There is not a ton for this deck, but a few upgrades.

I have been testing this deck tuned more for aggro. The current deck is as follows:

-2 Plains
-1 Island
+2 Evolving Wilds
-1 Oath of Chandra
-2 Oath of Jace
+4 Twin Bolt

I found that vs aggro I was at a disadvantage when on the Draw. I wanted more T2 plays, and since I wanted to keep the burn theme, I went for Twin Bolts. It is working very well so far. I did lose some deck manipulation w/ Oath, and 1 land, which is why I went w/ 2 more Evolving Wilds.

I have tested w/ 2-4 counterspells as well. It was better vs Ramp, but too often they would sit in my hand in other matchups. Definitely something I will consider, especially if the new meta is not as aggro as I am guessing.

If anyone is interested, here are 6 games I just played. Went 4-2 which is about average. Lost to Ramp and GW midrangeish. Won 2 WW, 1 RDW and 1 Midrange.

https://secure.twitch.tv/wintervoidx/v/77208937

For the new set, I intend to make the following changes to the current list:

-2 Plains
-1 Island
+2 Evolving Wilds
-2 Oath of Chandra
-2 Oath of Jace
-2 Celestial Flare

+2 Blessed Alliance
+2 Collective Defiance
+3 Incendiary Flow

This adds 15 more points of burn that can go directly to your opponent, and some lifegain. One card I may try is Providence. Normally, I am not that big on cards that only gain life, but that is potentially a LOT of life to gain late game. I would probably Drop 1 Incendiary for a Providence if I were to go that route.

New cards that worry me:

Collective Effort - I think 2 copies will be in every deck w/ white creatures. Not game breaking, but hate to see more enchantment hate.
Selfless Spirit - This will make our removal less reliable. At least it can be anticipated.
Thalia, Heretic Cathar - More of an annoyance, but could delay a sweeper.
Long Road Home - Not sure how much play this will get, but could be very annoying if played on cards like Greenwarden.
Mausoleum Wanderer - This will be used in Spirit decks. Along w/ Selfless, Spirits will be tougher to deal with.
Collective Brutality - Not so much on its own, but bet there will be more attempts at discard decks.
Graf Harvest - This will be tough to deal with. Have to kill everything twice
Whispers of Emrakul _ More discard. Yay
Liliana’s Elite - A tougher to get rid of Graveblade.
Impetuous Devils - Good reason to keep instants
Hanweir Battlements - Haste is bad for the deck...and this will be in a lot of decks.

There are lots of other scary creatures, but nothing that will be much different then dealing w/ the current scary creatures.

I think more people will play delirium, which helps us to mill them. On the other hand, there may be more people using the graveyard as a resource.

I think this deck will survive at about the same level it is now.

Why no Avacyn's Judgment in place of 2 Twin Bolts? Lose instant speed, but gain big upside with the discard outlets in the deck.

Well, TBH, Twin bolt is just more of a placeholder for replacements when the new set comes out. Trying to get used to what I think the playstyle will be with more burn in the deck. I am finding that I like twin bolt quite a bit though. The instant speed can be useful, and IMO, more useful then Judgement.

I have tried Judgement before, but there are just not enough discard effects to make it great. You are never going to get value using w/ the discard on Tutelage, so really your only use is with Nahiri. Now, that is a great combo, but in my testing, it came up pretty rarely. Now, I can completely see the argument for using it instead of Twin Bolt, but I prefer the instant speed.

With all that said, the spells I will be replacing Twin Bolt with will not be instants.....so it may make more sense to test w/ Judgement now so I don't get too used to the instant speed.

Barney, I think I would recommend this for current play. I think you lose a bit on the Mill victory condition, but the extra burn does help vs aggro. I guess it kind of depends on your meta, and I don't know what it is like on Xbox. Heavy Aggro, the Twin Bolt version. Heavy Ramp/Control, maybe old version but Replace Oath of Chandra w/ 2 Counters (I switched mana a bit as well. Think -2 Plains and +2 Wilds to find UU for Counters. Or could run Spell Shrivel.) Honestly, it is just more of a preference. I like the current version the best, but I like burning people down, and I am not seeing a ton or Ramp.

Yeah, I realized after posting you had culled out Jace's Oaths to make room for the twin bolts, leaving just Chandra, Nihiri, or over hand size with visions (did have games where that happened, specially with 2 out) as outlets you can profitably cast judgment from isn't quite as good as I was thinking.

Really looking forward to Geistcasting a fully escalated Collective Defiance with Tutelage out and cards in hand :king: ...gonna be real sad if they don't give us that card...

Same here. Just thinking, 6 damage to face, 8 Damage to creatures and massive mill. All for 8 mana :) Heck, even Blessed Alliance could be fun. 2 Creatures killed and 8 life for 7 mana.

Hope we get all the cards. They seem like the type of cards we would get, but who knows. Glad we didn't get Emrakul. I was thinking I would have to add the new blue counter just for that one card (Assuming we get the counter)

Judgement still may be worth it. IMO, more of a personal taste and playstyle decision.

Isn't Collective Defiance known to be in EMN? I believe it was confirmed together with Mirrorwing Dragon...
