I know this is pretty irrelevant but if you gave the 6/1 menace would it be unblockable?

Yup it's red and rare.

I don't know if it's gonna be enough, but we may get some other playable burn as well, so this might knoock of a turn off the clock of the format perhaps?

Oh, I didn't remember YOU chose the creature to block it, it's even better then.

Also, s far as combat tricks go. This is something I like I think :

Image

Trades one of your guys up and makes a 3/2 for 1 mana. Can be used agressively or to recuperate from removal. that sounds good to me, especially in a world of good ground blockers.

That is a very nice card, and common at that.

You probably wouldn't wanna run 4, because if the creature doesn't trade then the impact is too low. But 2/3 seems good.

This one seems pretty niche Image

But t2 Ravenous Bloodseeker, t3 madness this + madness senseless rage + discard a land hits for 11 trample. And then you have no hand ofc :D

I don't think it's good enough, but the trample may be relevant later on in the game. It does mean that if you got a neonate out t1 your opponent will probably be more or less within reach of ball lightning for the rest of the game.

but in a BR deck, there's plenty of ways to sacrifice your own creature.

+2/+2 and trample is great in a madness deck. Especially alongside cards like Stensia Masquerade

True it does combine well especially as an off-curve play since it can be cast for . I don't know though, I got all excited last season about explosivness of vampires and look where that got me. MOCKERY AND RIDICULE SIR.

lmao, so true. Let's see if we get all those tasty vampire cards the set brought so it can finally be something more than "that deck I use to complete cast B/R spells missons"

Wizards_Chris has since left a reply in the thread I linked confirming patch notes will be available on the 18th, so a release on the 20th is looking likely.

Vamps getting some interesting new toys. Not sure if they'll be significantly better, but at least a reason to revisit and test. Were/wolves get new toys, and the werewolves don't have the lack of control penalty on flips this time. Same as vamps tho - not sure they become significantly better, but reason to revisit.

Humans getting better. Zombies seem like they could become more legit, but humans seem like they'll be out of control. Rich get richer; everyone else (tribal) just struggling to be relevant.

I'm liking some of the escalate spells and am looking forward to having some flexible utility in decks. Also looking forward to using some of the emerge cards. Some of the ETB effects look fun. Excited to revisit my flashy draw-no deck with some of the new flash toys. Yay for new toys!

I know :( I want vampires to be decent. At the very least, this card turns your insolent Neonate into a 3/2 and probably leave you with enough mana for madness costs on something else.

I refrain from commenting about humans for the most part, but the various mixes of humans have access to absolutely sick stuff this expansion. It's disgusting. I'll leave it up to someone else to list all of it, but its alot and it all broken. It's way easier to answer the question wether humans will be good than vamps/wolves: yeah they gonna be a pain.

My guess ? old zombies < old wolves <New wolves < new zombies < old vamps <<<< old mono humans < new vamps <<<<<< new mono humans < r/w humans =< g/w humans.

I'm kind of excited to mess with Identity Thief if we get it.

The problem was that a lot of the clocks you were looking at fail to blockers. But trample solves that neatly, and trample madness fits in perfectly. I'm not excited about vamps or anything, but they will be much better now.

this is a card that needs to be examined, just to set my mind at ease :

Image

This is a common 2/3 vanilla, but it's also a psychatog type of card. All you need to do with this thing in an agressive deck is protect it for a turncycle, then give it evasion. 2/1 goblin anyone ? :D we don't have a way to give it hexproof, do we ? Otherwise, enter the 10/10 plant elemental combo deck.
