Then you clearly don't play tempo decks. You're reading this card wrong. This isn't "counter the next spell your opponent plays" it's "force your opponent to discard a card and pay its mana cost". The point is to disrupt the flow of your opponent's hand not to simply counter a spell.

Not terribly shocking. And while she could have been shenanigans, she was actually pretty tricky for me to wrap my mind around if she was very good or not, so I'll deal.

Honestly, the biggest problem is that it's just too expensive. I'd play it at 2 CMC and not a dime more. It's not getting played over any 3 drop I've currently got access to in tempo, and I haven't even checked what else might be available from the new set to push it further out.

I may/will try it in an enchantment deck, but that's really it.

yeah it was red, 3 red mana and 1 colourless for a 6/1 trample that suicide bombs in end phase. Fun card.
