You could always play both herald of the pantheon, then copy them with both altered ego and then cast it for 1UU and gain 4 life... And maybe then get something good off your opponent's deck...

We missed out on Zada, but maybe we can get this one?

I want to play this solely to see if I can get some random to use Anguished Unmaking on it :D

I actually asked for more dragons in duels... This one actually looks playable.
Imagine Devour in Flames bouncing all his land back to his hand... Lol

Opponent casts a ravaging blaze targeting the dragon = Instant loss for you!

Still want it though, just for the laughs whenever it goes off.

The way you worded that makes it seem like we would be the losers, not the opponent.

For the Tamiyo example, the comparison would be something like 1UGW vs 1UUU, and then we'd ask which should be pushed harder at the same rarity. WotC tend to push the former, but the latter is actually harder to play.

You're not even taking deckbuilding into account. 1UUU is extremely easy to play if you're running a mono-U deck. 1UGW is harder to play because it requires you to build a deck with 3 colors in its mana base. How something this simple is generating so much debate is beyond me.

Whenever that happens to you, you should question your understanding of the discussion rather than the discussion itself.

Wait wouldn't it target the creatures the person casting ravaging blaze controls? Am I misreading the card? Basically if you choose to declaration in stone it, you also end up declaration in stone'ing all of your own creatures, etc...

Yep, thats about right. A painful Dragon to remove without a sweeper (like there aren't enough of those in decks already). Seems to me more like a blue card than Red though...

You are correct, which is why I also queried Nighthawk's post. The card basically deters targeted removal. Unless you want some Clues that is.

I should RTFC,Awakened spells just go around the protection.
Also think twice before casting it if your opponent casted a confront the unknown or that +2/+2 draw a card instant before

Okay cool, that's what I thought. Fun card, I really like how its protection and buff are based on the same line of text. Bravo WotC, Bravo!

The Dragon is interesting it's like Zada but also reflects the opponent's spells on their own creatures if they target it. It's more expensive, mythic and the reflection could give Duels a chance with it.

The blue mythic sounds fun and interesting but it's pretty lame and expensive in reality, especially since it's just opponents and only the first spell each turn triggers it. It even seems janky for Commander which this has the best chance in.

Does the awakened bounce spell get copied with awaken? That might be a pretty painful "answer" to the dragon if you have a couple of small dudes out.

Not sure... When you can ask complicated question about a card, probably means we're not getting it...

When you copy the spell you copy it as it is on the stack so if Awaken is paid for then awaken gets copied too. However, the mere fact you paid for awaken means you can't copy it if you aim it at the Dragon because it is no longer the only target of the spell.

More instant loss for him, as he casts a Ravaging Blaze targeting his creatures (and him) for every creature he controls that does not have hexproof, pro-red or some other weird shenanigans going on.

The answer is no. Awaken is an additional cost that gives the spell an additional target (a land to put counters on and animate) so it won't trigger the copy ability since it only works whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only Mirrorwing Dragon.

What a waste of a mythic.

Not so...
Try comboing it with Pyromancer's Assault. Sure its expensive, but bang! It will keep the spells coming.

EDIT: read it wrong... Read player and not opponent.
Still interesting, but for that casting cost, you need a card that does something now...

Agreed. It's amusing. I may throw it in a deck just because. But for the cost, it needs to be guaranteed paying and not "ok, that was a nice turn 7, now I'll hit you with every creature I already have instead of casting spells" And also for that cost it needs to not whiff on a land card - in fact land is a pretty deadly tradeoff here since it's later game with 7+ lands on the board and not only do you gain nothing but the opponent had a probably dead land draw tossed out of the way.

It does, however, combo with Pyromancer's Assault in the sense that you could cast a spell for no cost on their turn, and then cast just one from your hand. Though not the turn after you drop this for 7, probably.

So how many cards are we getting? OGW we got 146 of 184, this time if the proportions are right we'll get 162 of 205 cards. Since there's a number of DFC cards the actual number may be higher or lower, since you're getting the flip side with the front and they count as two cards... The three meld pairs also count as 3 cards per pair.
